  1. Agree with that. At least with the US version you get SS troops I'm European, but have the "luck" to be working in Jordan for the moment and my CMAK came out of the States, neat!

  5. Well, for all those also experiencing overheat problems, you might try closing down al programs running in the background. That's what I did and loking goods... just hd a sesion of about 2 hours and no more overheating.... Monty, here I come
  6. My CPU is a P4 with 2.4 GhZ. I also have 512 Mb RAM. I know it's demanding, but still....
  7. I seem to have the same problem on my Sony Vaio PCG-GRV550 with ATI Radeon Mobility 7500C. Even when setting up a game, sometimes the computer turns itself off (and feels hot). I've tried putting some books under it for better ventilation, but that doesn't help either. Any suggestions?
  8. The HQ, depending of the size of unit would consist of the CO, the EXO (2nd in command), the supply NCO and evt. weapons master. Thus, this little group would normally consist of the most experienced NCO's (platoon level). This is, I presume, reflected in the game in the manner you describe.
  9. Although I am fully in favor of the original languages being used, I find it od for Germans to crack down on the Americans and British for the language abilities .... all movies in Germany are dubbed... only in Germany can you see John Wayne enter a saloon and ordering "Einem Schnapps bitte" (I may have got the iclination wrong ) for that matter, also in the CIS, movies are dubbed.... In my opinion, there could be a section in the handbook with some phrases and what they mean (kind of like in the Lonely Planet guides at the end ) BTW, I am Flemish Belgian and we usually speak a zillion languages (well, we have to, who speaks Flemish anyway, and the Dutch pretend they do not understand us )... maybe Biltong...
  10. That's called diversion tactics in my dictionary, not gamey
  11. Found some interresting information on the fighting in North Africa by the Polish "Carpathian" Brigade, complete with maps and other usefull info .. maybe something for you scenario makers to look at. http://www.kki.krakow.pl/piojar/brygad/brygad/brygad.html The main page is in Polish, but there is an English version on Palestine & Egypt and about Tobruk.
  12. Good search Bogdan Saves me from posting my ugly face on the forum in front of some petroleum pump to make my point
  13. I just spent 2 years working around the Kazakh steppes in the Caspian area.... a pygmee would have a hard time finding concealment in that... for me, it consists of ankle-high vegetation, no trees at all (sometimes driving for 6 hours from one town to the next) ... then again, the Germans never came that far.... maybe the Kazak steppe is diferent from the Russian and Ukrainian one...
  14. So overall, and this is a question for you veterans, is buying airpower worth the points? Or would you not bother with it and rather invest in arty?
