  1. Okay, so does this mean that there WILL be an engine rewrite in the future? If they do this, are they going to go flat out and try to incorporate many new features and include more nationalities (Bulgarians and Slovaks leap to mind). If they cannot do multiple turrets then they shall be unable to bring in the early war British A9 and A10 cruiser tanks(used during the Battle for France, Greece, and the early desert war), right?

What can you tell me about this engine rewrite? Will it ever happen?

  2. Does anyone know WHY there are no T-28's in combat mission? How can we similate the Winter War without these tanks? Not only were there two models, but the Finns used several of these captured T-28s in the Continuation War. I sure would like to see them used. Or am I just unable to locate these AFVs in my database.

  3. Anyone interested in hard data on the Hungarians and their small numbers of Tiger Tanks may want to check out the book on Hungarian Forces In WWII, Volume Two. This is available through Axis Europa Books. This publisher is good news/bad news: the good news is that all of his books are on Axis Minors; the bad news is that most of the works tend to be revisionist. Regardless, the amount of rare info offered proves valuable. I do not have my sources with me :( since I presently teach English in China.

The one use of Tigers I recall is when the Hungarians were conducting a withdrawl from the region formerly known as Galicia (Haychyna) back across the Carpathians into Hungary. Two Tigers helped cover this withdrawl.

I had done a lot of research and scenario design for the upcoming (?) release of the Axis Monors module for the ASL series (this was two years ago) but I have since traded in my ASL for ESL. Maybe some day I can refit these scenario submissions for CMBB?

  4. Recent books have appeared on the market pertaining to the Slovaks. Mark Axelworthy (author of the Third Axis Fourth Ally) has recently published his book on the Slovaks. In addition there are "oversized" photo books that deal exclusively with the Czech and Slovak forces and their weaponry. In these books you will find much detail on battles in Russia fought by the "Slovak Fast Corps" ( a similar appellation which was affixed to the Hungarians). Note that the Slovaks had a regimental sized unit involved in the fight for Rostov. I also think that the Slovak Uprising in late '44 would make for interesting scenarios. Some of these could use Partisans, Russian Paratroops (they were actually a Czech force outfitted with Russian gear)and Axis weapons all fighting the Germans. smile.gif

  5. The Bulgarian Army attacked the German forces in Yugoslavia, and neighboring areas. Their most notable efforts came against the Prinz Eugen Division near Nis (or Nish) and also engaged elements of the SS Handschar Division (?)as the war drew to a close.

What I find interesting is their large use of German equipment--particularly artillery, halftracks and Mark IV tanks.

Speaking of forgotten Axis, how do we portrat the Slovaks in CM?
