I just got my copy of the book in the mail about Scobie and the Battle for Athens. This book will supply me with the detail I need. Turns out that this is a very good book.

To me this action is definitely WWII esoterica as troops needed elsewhere were sent to a theater to fight a former ally. Amazing, while troops are fighting in the Bulge this was going on in Greece. Sad but interesting...

Guys, this forum is often the best place for me to seek out links and info on obscure history. I am currently researching the British forces in Athens in 1944. I know the KRRC, 4 Indian Divison and later the regular 4th Infantry Division were deployed but what armor did the Brits
have when they defended Constitution Square against heavy attacks by ELAS in December 1944?
ANYTHING will be greatly appreciated.

Blackcat, the Doc thinks I have had this for over ten years judging by my high uric acid readings. As far as energy goes, the more weight I lose the more energy I have. Unfortunately I live in Wisconsin. Right now I am not too enthused about wondering about outside in 6 degree weather...

I had also seen bootleg versions while in China. I tried to like EYSA but it never stuck with me as did the CM series. UH-OH! Here I go again pining for CM 2 WWII...

Blackcat--I have read about gout on various websites that claim that light beer does not lessen the bouts of gout(there is so much info contradicts other info). I have resigned myself to giving up my favorite non-filtered ale--Apricot Ale from Pyramid Brewery in Oregon. Goodbye to Hoegaarden as well. Now its Czechvar (or Budvar) and Stella Artois--in moderation of course.
One real interesting positive effect of my meds is that for years I have been suffering with an arthritic right hip. I thought 36+ years of being an Ice hockey goalie was to blame. The pain would be so bad that I was only able to sleep on my left side. For the first time in 10+ years I can sleep on my right side without pain. Amazing. They say gout affects joints, and the hip is a very large joint.
I still get fatigued, but then again I am over 50 so this is not a real surprise.

Blackcat: yep, I am now taking one Allopurinol pill (300mg) per day now that my last attack has abated.
I do feel a lot better and now will try more wine than beer--but still in moderation. Thanks guys!

After just one week I feel terrific. This medicine I have been taken has done the trick. It's amazing what an accurate diagnosis can do for one's life.
But...I...Still...want...beer!

You never heard of Advanced Squad Leader? It is also referred to as ASL. It's been around since '83, the predecessor: Squad leader was released back in 1977.
I've been playing this for years, shelved it for PC games and now am back to the old classic.
