  1. Dan Fenton: First: Welcome at the SC forum About research: My experience from many games show me that there is no above or below average rate for certain tech areas. At least not noticable. I have seen Germany reach Lv3 Heavy tanks with 1 chit, as well as Anti-tank and so on... If I am playing Allies I usually invest 4-5 chits in Long Range and then I nearly every time got Lv 3-4 in LR. When Axis also invests in LR I need less chits. But that I dont receive a research success in one tech field also occurs often. At least if I only invest 1-3 chits and my opponent doesnt research it. Since research chances doesnt add up, each turn the chances are the same to get a tech. With 3 chits only 15 %. But the chance that you dont get the tech is each turn 85 %. Usually I get 6-10 advances throughout a game with 10 chits over 4-5 years. They are spread by chance over all fields where I put my chits into (as Axis). Some of your results can also have to do with the catch up system. If your opponent has a higher tech Lv than you, the chance for each chit is increased by 1 % for each Lv difference. 2. April 4, 1942: Axis makes again the fault and moves airfleets into France. 4 airfleets appear around Bordeaux and Marseilles. Nothing left in Russia, therefore trench warfare in the east. Only Riga captured by Axis, but Russia also captured a rumanian oilfield, connected with a corps line to Odessa. UK air kills another airfleet in Bordeaux, naval forces move to Arcachon. Surprise, 2 cruisers and 2 subs are waiting there. A big naval battle is starting, UK calls all ships to battle, the Med and North Sea fleets return to the Atlantic... Allied landings in France, the second transport wave is waiting at the coast... [ May 25, 2003, 03:50 AM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  3. March 1942: Axis moves another airfleet to Bordeaux. Immediately killed by UK airfleets and carriers. Combined US, UK, canadian and free french transports standing along the french coast. Brest axis corps under attack, but still holding - killing the airfleet had priority. German cruisers falling back to Arcachon. Russian cruiser breaked out of the Baltic Sea, heading to the battle in the Atlantic. [ May 25, 2003, 03:57 AM: Message edited by: Terif ]
  4. January 11, 1942: In Russia the line Odessa-Riga holds. Ploesti oilfield in Romania occupied by russian forces. Lots of partisans in Yugoslavia. Westfront: After the russian war began, UK recalled the hidden airfleets back to England. In France only one german airfleet has been left in Brest. UK counterattack in France killed the Brest airfleet, US and UK transports along the french coast. The 2 remaining german cruisers are waiting for their death near Brest... 5. November 30, 1941: The great war has begun... 8 german armies, 2 tanks, 3 corps and 4 airfleets + 2 minor armies invade Russia. Only weak forces: Axis had to pay a price for the airbattle over Britain . Alexandria and Bergen still Allied despite a big carrier-airbattle two turns ago at Bergen. Malta and surrounding UK dominated. Unfortunately Germany has at least Lv3 Long Range, probably Lv 4. UK transports have to be careful...
  6. August 31, 1941: Bergen occupied. Beirut surrounded and will fall next turn to Axis. Yugoslavia surrendered.
  7. August 1941: Axis landings in the eastern Med. The last italian sub damages a UK transport near Albania. UK carriers attack the Bergen corps. Still german bombers (airfleets) over Great Britain...
  8. July 1941: Finally UK scientists reach the same jet tech level as Germany: Jets Lv3. 6 german airfleets are now beating on England. Some turns ago a french army died in the bomb shower, now the airfleet entrenched in Manchester has been killed after Germany obviously got Long Range. Italian transports near Eqypt and Beirut. UK transports are looking for empty cities in the Med. No luck so far... Yugoslavian coup.
  9. Germany keeps on attacking a free french army near London with 5 airfleets. UK air is in safety, not intercepting against the more advanced german air.
  10. Germany has now the tech advantage: Lv2 jets against Lv1 UK jets. Sealion has been repelled, the landed army destroyed. German forces retreats from England and Egypt. No units in sighting range any more. UK ships return to Algier to continue bombarding the garrison.
  11. March 30, 1941: Its Sealion time: one italian army landed west of London. Some other transports are waiting now along the coast to unload next turn. One italian transport destroyed by air and battleship. The naval battle near Spain developes to the biggest sea battle in history: 2 german cruisers and a sub attack the returning fleet from Gibraltar. One german sub sunk, the others damaged. Fortunately the entire UK navy protected the three carriers...
  12. March 1941: Last italian battleship destroyed near Gibraltar. No UK naval losses so far. Algier shore bombarded. An italian army transport moves near London and is attacked by UK air. The intercepting german airfleet reveals: Germany has also Jets Lv 1 now.
  13. I also have only one tech, but I researched a year longer than Rambo . Italian ships catched at Gibraltar. One battleship destroyed, the last one cut off west of Gibraltar.
  14. November 1940: Naval battle near Spain. 2 Italian ships destroyed by a UK task force. Following the fleeing italian ships to Gibraltar.
  15. Exchange: Italy takes Suez, UK takes Beirut and Bergen. Italian ships break through Gibraltar port, heading towards Brest.
  16. August 1940: Italian transports appear at Algiers coast. Attacked by Malta airfleet. Axis prepares for Vichy and Norway.
  17. Heavy airfights over France. UK airfleet lost. Brest attacked by carriers, no interception. German airfleets must be below 5 now. French airfleet dies by attacking a weak german airfleet, but german air survives.
  18. July 7, 1940: France surrenders. German tanks followed the UK corps to Brest and destroyed one of them. The rest escaped with transports. First research success for Allies: Jets Lv 1.
  19. June 23, 1940: A wonder occured: all 5 UK corps reached the save harbor, no losses. Only the french Paris garrison is still holding out. A lot of transports on the sea now .
  20. June 1940: The core of the french forces landed safe in England. UK corps heading towards harbors for shipping to England.
  21. May 1940: Italy declares war. Time for evacuation procedure. Mine and Maginot abondoned, french armies operated to Brest. UK corps secure the retreat.
  22. April 1940: Second french army killed. German forces only 2 hexes from Paris.
  23. Second sub destroyed, one french cruiser lost during the hunt. Slowly but surely german units are marching towards Paris.
  24. February 1940: Ireland surrenders. French Ardennes army killed.
  25. December 1940: First sub sunk, second damaged. French and UK corps build a three hexes deep row between LC and Paris. Germany will have to kill one after the other... Carrier training in Ireland.
