  1. That's pretty good! Actually I think it's excellent!

A minor criticism... I'd like to see more rust on the welds though.

Where you get heat and metal and moisture you get instant rust. Even without direct moisture it only takes a few days for welds to rust.

I'm a Leading Hand in a car plant and a welder. I have been for 10 years...

The areas around the welds and the welds themselves rust quickly, like you wouldn't believe...

Good model though! Truly Great Stuff!

No indication of how long it has been out of the factory... Might have been 5 minutes ;)

    Excellent Work!

My vote would be for McAuliffe...

His Ardenne's map work is some of the best you'll find IMO!

  3. I see no injustice in executing a member of the SS present in a death camp. They were voluntary members of an organization expressly established to protect and expand the Nazi empire. That, in and of itself, merits the death penalty.
Extremism is always best served straight from the coals.

Once in U.S. history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.

Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The U.S. soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.

All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.

Interesting Alias you've picked BTW... but I wonder if they got "ALL" the perps... or just some Islamic fellas in the wrong place at the wrong time... Well, they were there so they were guilty anyway, right?

  4. Congratulations BigDog944!

A great AAR by all accounts. I'll be emailing you to work out your prize and thanks for the kind words regarding Tiger Valley. I'm really glad you guys enjoyed it. Feel free to post a quick review over at the Scenario Depot II if you get the time ;)

A quick mention of the other AARs and the high quality achieved. Both Enigma and Jbertles put together ripping renditions of their battles, as did BigDuke6. I know it was never an easy decision given the standard of the work submitted by everyone who did so and you should all be commended!

    :D

Yeah, I would have left it at that.

This is a public forum. People post ideas and thoughts, you have to be prepared that if you step up to the plate to bat, you might cop a fast one in the head.

  6. Well, here's what you might win !!!

Thankfully she survived postage and customs...

The figures are from 3 seperate kit's, Dragon and Mini Art Tank riders, the tank comander was scratch built from those two and another Italeri kit.

Finished with Tamiya paints, Testors Model Master paints, Humbrol enamels.

    Weathered with Tamiya Rust Powder.

The base is Australian Hardwood, Alpine Ash, routed and stained, varnished with Wattyl Estapol.

A good six months work, my guess is about 300 hours... ;)
