  1. I did the same thing, I kept holding off on a new computer and then I went out and bought a system from digital storm and I did all the pricing and the computer cost me a few hundred dollars above cost. The good thing is flawless operation and no problems, plug in and ready to go. You get a nice system now and you will appreciate it. It looks like computers need to be upgraded like our bodies as they get old. I can plop any game on the hard drive and it works high end

if you get a hard drive get a real fast one at 10,000 rpm's (Velocity Raptor)

  2. Hi Schrull,

I found the answer to my problem. I clicked on the shortcut and looked at the properties. I noticed from looking at CMBB the game was running in Windows xp sp 2 and the cmbo shortcut was running in Windows 7. I made the cmbo run in windows xp mode and it takes up the entire screen. However, CMAK is run at Windows 7 and it displays full screen.

I also reinstalled cmbo and it didnt ask me the scren resolution?

    thanks

  3. I just purchased the trilogy series from Amazon by David Glantz and his writing on the Battle of Stalingrad. If you want some good books visit this website,

very expensive and you will not find them in the local library. I have a bunch with l;ots of good stuff. Just put down a small book on Graf Strachwitz and the 1944 Battles at Narva and the book contains great Photos. I will scan a few of them this week and they show the camo techniques on the Eastern Front, I also have to finish 10 other books from them but I'll get to them some day.

  4. Hi Skanvak,

Try to reinstall the game and if it doesn't work click on the properties on the desktop icon and run it from a previous version of Windows. Make sure you try easy steps before you start messing around with your system. One thing I did the other day when something didn't work, turned off my machine and restarted and guess what, the program worked.

Post below looks like the same problem, do you have the correct disk in the drive?

  5. I am playing a few games against opponents and to often get in the correct position I go into the ground level to determine the best elevation for my tanks behind the hill. I noticed the grid lines on some videos and I know a mod is available for that.

    My question is this,

What mods do many players use that are a real big enhancement to the game? If you have any recommendations, I would love to get them.

    thanks

  6. Wow, that was an interesting find. I still have an old Wargame from Avalon Hill called Crete and Malta. I had Tobruk but that disappeared somewhere along the way and I also had Afrika Korps and the same thing happened. Don't loan anything to anyone unless your willing to never see it again!!! Darn! By the way, I bought Tactics 2 on Ebay a few years ago, good condition, sold my solitaire victory game called Ambush

I still have 3 games from 360 from the V for Victory series (computer-3.5" floppies)

  7. Hi Paul,

I play the game with a 24" widescreen monitor and when I installed on my new machine with Vista it worked fine. I then upgraded to windows 7 and it also worked. I do know that cmbb etc only have a certain resolution available. Perhaps, uninstall the game and try to install the game. I would possibly try the game after each patch to see if it works from the get go. Like usual, background programs running?
