Combat Mission is CPU limited.  Over the years I have played it on GTX 580, GTX 680, GTX 980 and now GTX 1080.  There has been no positive improvement in frame rate across all those GPUs.

The game engine is an issue, modern or even hardware over the past many years makes no difference, it is very hard to get "reasonable" performance out of this game. I've been complaining and helping through the years. Honestly until we get a new engine built to even semi-modern specs nothing can make much of a difference. That's why super old hardware and ultra modern barely move the needle on performance.

If you watch this video and still think there is absolutely no problem, you're either high, delusional, or both. 
The fact is, there IS an issue, and Steve has already acknowledged it and said there will be a patch that addresses it. Again to reiterate what I've already said, I would like it if the patch was out sooner rather than later, but I'm not all butthurt that it hasn't been released yet.

This is my quick grass and mini texture mod. It is meant to compliment other desaturated texture packs, especially Aris' although you could use it stand alone if you wanted. I didn't create the original textures I just tweaked them so all credit goes to the original art director/illustrators.

Just a quick jump in... I think the CM games on Steam would be a great idea. Good for exposure, player base growth, sales, etc... I'm just a long time comsumer and fan of the series so I'm just one tiny opinion on the matter but I've always felt this would be a positive move.
