  1. I´d guess it either doesn´t start at all or wrecks your installation. I wouldn´t try to find out. Nolloff
  2. Your setup is welcome with 1.01 as well [ February 13, 2003, 04:23 AM: Message edited by: Nolloff ]
  3. That´s revenge for 1.01 when CDV was first ... Conspiracy!!!
  4. If you have the CDV version you can´t use the Battlefront patch. It seems it is not released yet .... darn. The site I´m checking is www.combatmission.de but nothing there yet. Nolloff
  5. LOL! I stared at the ground for almost a minute to determine what you might have "modded". Frost [ February 11, 2003, 09:34 AM: Message edited by: Nolloff ]
  6. Hehe, I believe that´s indeed what you think it is. I didn´t really know what was meant when reading it in German. Sorry for the Tarzan-English. Nolloff
  7. Yeah, the rabid attack of the mad fanbois and your heroic stand for reason, justice, free speech and customer dissatisfaction. A day to remember! Nolloff
  8. LH, you can´t really be serious that the game is unfinished just because some models are not there can´t you? If there´s a gap between your personal design specifications for CMBB and the game as it is now or after the patch that´s rather your personal problem. "Unfinished" can only relate to what the company, the adds, the box, the manual, the official promises stated to be included in the game and the status as it is now. I see no unfinished business there. And, sure, Q3 or Q4 2004 doesn´t matter at all. This is not business, cashflow doesn´t really matter, who cares about revenue coming jus a quarter later as long as the models keep coming. Swinging the fanboi mace doesn´t really improve your point. Fanboy seems to include everybody who does not share your oh so humble opinion. Nolloff [ February 09, 2003, 08:51 AM: Message edited by: Nolloff ]
  9. Seems CM got some people addicted to eye-candy. And I thought that´s the opposite of realism for the grogs. The times, they are changing ... Nolloff
  10. I try. Please note that I´ll be doing it quickly (spelling, grammar might be a bit shaky sometimes). Area fire (supporting fire?)commands for vehicles which start to reverse due to threats will get deleted automatically. * New unit composition category for QBs. "Tanks only" * Battles saved in tourney format will autmatically use EFOW settings Models *New: Pz 38(t) E, BT-2, SPW 250/11, Valentine III, StuG IV (früh und spät), Deutsche 28mm sPzB 41 Panzerbüchse * Improved: Tiger I (früh, mitte, und spät), M3 Spähfahrzeug, PSW 234/1, Puma, PSW 234/3, SPW 250/1 (alt), Churchill, Russische 76.2mm M1927/39 Regimentskanone Fixed BUGS: * Problem corrected regarding units which due to too high fatigue need too long to revocer * Guns will fire with lower probability if there´s a high probability the projectile might hit an obstacle or rising ground * Correct textures for Ampulomets * Ammo settings now work for computer purchased forces in QBs. * Smaller PBEM file sizes when ski-units are involved * Lowered effectiveness of AA fire and damaged aircraft might leave earlier * Wenn following a vehicle which is only displayed as a sound contact the real location of the enemy unit will not get shown anymore * Correct points for units which exit the map as passengers. * No more black Command and Control lines to captured HQs * Reset target order for Artillery will remember if smoke or HE got fired * Infantry units don´t walk in place underneath a rotating vehicle they are ordered to embark but will wait until rotating is finished * Enemy foxholes will not get shown in the setup-phase when the mouse pointer is placed upon them. * Correct display of the word "casualties" when bunker crews take casualties * Shift-X settings will get carried over to new games * More realistic effects (lowered) of aircraft bombs against upright infantry * Improved graphics for intersections * MG carrier rotation for aiming corrected. * Tanks where the crews have bailed out continue "influencing" VLs until the tank is getting displayed as abandoned or destroyed for the enemy. * Units firing small calibre weapons can´t hurt themselves during night battles Unit data changes: * Sowjet 122mm AP ammo with ballistic cap will be available in Feb 45 * T-34, SU-85, SU-122 have an angle of 53 degrees for lower front hull * Tanks of the KV-I series (exception KV-IS) have a 30 degree angle for lower front hull. * SU-85, SU-100, SU-122 have an angle of 20 degrees for upper side hull * Smaller changes for armor on IS-2 series * ZIS-3 gun has calibre L/42. 11. I see you point and I agree. So is there an official word about patching? Nolloff
  12. When the patch comes out, everybody patches immediately, right? I feel my question might sound a bit stupid but I´m a bit worried some of us might run into compatibility problems, especially in games with people who are currently MIA. Cheers! Nolloff
  13. Well, he could have a an uncle called "Basher" So you fought the Nazis so that today people have the right to call themselves "Hitler" or "Heydrich" on message boards. What an absurd idea of Freedom of Speech. Sounds more like "Do what thou wilt" by A. Crowley. Nolloff
  14. I believe a radio car can serve as a HQ for tanks when the "real" HQ is out of command and control or destroyed. Nolloff
  15. Take your time! Haven´t heard from Ron in a while too. He seems to be on a business trip or something. Nolloff
  16. Don´t draw the wrong conclusions. What you describe is not the result of incorrect modelling of Soviet tank behaviour. There must be reasons which you must avoid. - Are your tanks buttoned-up - What´s the crew quality - Are they reloading (long reload times on the Russian biggies) - What´s your overall force morale - Does one Russian tank face numerous enemy threats at once - Is the enemy moving fast so that your tanks have problems targetting etc. etc. etc. I think the outcome of the thread I linked is that this behaviour is correct and not a bug or something. Change your strategy (see also the other threat currently on page one where ParaBellum has given some tips)! In a current PBEM I have taken out approximately 10 German tanks (Jagdpanthers, Panthers, Tigers with four crack IS-2s) in engagements below 500m. I get my butt kicked elsewhere on the map but this is proof enough that what you describe is NOT happening always and everywhere but only in certain situations which you must seek to avoid. As mentioned earlier Jägermeister is a pretty good scenario to better understand what´s going on. Check the Jägermeister AAR thread in the scenario talk forum. 17. It might just not be balanced enough to play it against the Germans controlled by the AI. This together with the fact that the AI isn´t the best attacker. I´d suggest you play it as the Germans or PBEM. Playing the Germans is quite an experience. Nolloff
  18. Thanks for changing the name. Check this thread and the others that spawned from it... Yellow livered IS-2s Nolloff [ February 03, 2003, 02:44 PM: Message edited by: Nolloff ]
  19. Thanks for your attempts at setting new benchmarks in the amount of nonsense per posting category. You had your second in the spotlight. Please go away. Nolloff
  20. If yes I hope Seanachai and his army of cockroaches will come forward and show their stuff. But actually I´m more afraid of Sunday evening when I´ll have to endure repulsive Roland´s wet lips commenting on a major victory. War is hell ... Cheers! Nolloff
  21. During a shocking encounter with my own visage in the mirror this morning I developed a certain suspicion where this might be coming from. So if this is an attempt at investigative journalism I´d recommend an approach with does not insult the intelligence of 99,99% of the forum visitors. If the question which is at the core of all of this is "why does a realistic simulation of WW2 combat omit the realities of war, e.g. blood, guts, severed limbs etc. etc." or "where´s the morale..." I´d suggest you rephrase your posting over at the General Forum. Ontheotherhand if you really need more guts I´d suggest you head over to Rotten and start fondling the lower regions of your body. I´ve also heard that shooting yourself while watching the action phase improves the realism of the simulation ten-fold. Newbies start with an air-gun. Cheers! 22. Alarmer, check this out Nippy´s guide to more realistic quickbattles Cheers Nolloff
  23. Madmatt, I have one which shows it. If you want mine ... It looks identical but the Russian vehicle is a scout car. Let me know ... Nolloff
  24. Cool quote! Although it sounds genuinely C-movie I believe it´s Hans Rosenthal in the last episode of Dalli Dalli, right?
