Killing open top tanks w/ mortars - impossible?
PvtTom replied to Juardis's topic in Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
I took out a German half-track with a 50mm mortar last week. -
Thanks for the info guys, I will give your scenario a try, sounds good.
-
I am looking for a scenario that starts earlier than the ones that come with the game, something before Germany declares war with Poland, any have any suggestions? Thanks
-
So what happened?

Why could tanks not neutral steer?

Questions for Fionn re: AAR vs. The_Capt

It's a shame that the few ruined it for the rest. -
I think one of my squads has been drinking anti-freeze again, they just did the dumbest thing I have ever seen. They are advancing through a city only a few meters from a building when mortar rounds land nearby and they panic, no big deal but do they crawn 3 meters to the safty of the building? No! They crawl 30 meters throught the arty fire to a building behind them. Mother Russia is in trouble :0

What I reaily meant was MMG vs LMG, sorry
-
You can get 3 Russian LMGs for the same price as 1 MMG and they have almost equal firepower (when the 3 LMG are combined) so which is better? Up till now I have always bought MMGs but I am thinking LMGs might be the way to go. Edit: Oops I meant MMG not HMG, I was talking about the Maxim [ January 03, 2003, 01:00 PM: Message edited by: PvtTom ]

Anyone else ever give a unit orders then when you look at the unit next turn the orders are gone? That has happened to me a few times in one game I am playing.
-
LOL they wanted to use it against tanks, that's a good one
-
LOL what would the point be, the shell would land and kill everyone on the map.
-
LOL sounds good, whats that movie where the aircraft carrier goes back to Pearl Harbor?
-
Anyone else ever wonder what a modern tank company could do in CMBB times?
-
Actually the coax mg in an M1 is only held in with 2 pins, it is easy to take out, I don't have any idea how a WWII tank is set up though.
-
Just an fyi, a coax is fired by the gunner and the ammo is handled by the loader so it has a 2 man crew.

I want Vet Russian troops in Jun 41
PvtTom replied to PvtTom's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Oh and I want my MTV too! -
I want Vet Russian troops in a Jun 41 quick battle, why am I forced to only have reg? And please don't give me the "there were no vet Ruissian troops in 41" because my guys fought against the Japanese.
-
Maybe the tank is not moving? Now I am not sure about WWII tanks but modern tanks use the main gun sights for the MG also, I would assume WWII tanks did too.
-
I would think tank MG firepower would be as good or better than HMG firepower, you have stable platform and powerful sights to use when shooting.
