  1. I prefer a patch rather than being forced to buy an SC2 to fix the problems in SC1.
  2. Try looking at the following sites: www.gmtgames.com www.decisiongames.com www.clashofarms.com Good Luck, it's a great Hobby. Also check out: www.boardgamers.org
  3. Shouldn't players decide how they want to save games before the game begins? That would aleviate suspicion.
  4. Ahhh the Internet. It's the Wild West gentleman and remember the Law did come to town.
  5. 50,000 at the beginning and at the end of the war? Did they know how to reproduce?
  6. Where does one get all the Graphics Mods? I have the Elite Mod and the first of jmbunnells unit and terrain mods.
  7. Yea Les, I've played Quebec 1759(love it) so many times the box is beginning to fall apart(also I've played it now for many, many years). It was the first boardgame I played that had written movement orders executed simultaneously. [ December 15, 2002, 09:55 PM: Message edited by: VictorH ]
  8. I applied the 1.06 patch over the terrain mod and the arrows are still there.
  9. Add Hoth for both attack and defense. He saved an entire army group in the Caucus when Stalingrad was surrounded. I agree that Stilwell was excellent and don't forget Mountbatten. Bradley was excellent too. He didn't have the star power of Patton nor the "stuck up I'm better than everyone" Montgomery attitude.
  10. I applied the latest patch then applied the Elite Edition Graphics and the game fails when I try to start it. Is there an update to the Elite Edition Graphics? Also, I haven't tried but there were some graphics modifications from jmbunnell, do they work or do they crash the game too now?
  11. Good point. Clearly all of America's problem are directly related to Presidential fellatio. Enron, Worldcomm, declining stock markets, terrorists, protectionism, intolerance, hatred, widening gap between the rich and the poor, declining educational standards, all of it because of the "lack of moral fiber". Yeah, the reformed alcoholic, draft-dodging, daddys boy is the poster child for "moral fiber". Uh-huh. "He's stupid, but in a very *moral* way..." Jeff</font>
  12. I originally began wargames with Feudal, Stratego and Risk. Then I moved onto Chess. My first "Official" Wargame was Avalon Hill's 1914, given to me as a gift by my grandmother in 1969! Shortly after that I ordered S&T's The Battle of Moscow that came with paper counters (that I mounted on cardboard) and a black and white map that I also mounted on cardboard and colored. That game was advertised in Boy's Life Magazine, yep I was a Boy Scout (Eagle). Then everything mushroomed, all my friends began buying and playing wargames and I have been at it ever since. By the way, I gave up Chess, Risk (dice war, game sucks) and Feudal. I've heard that Wargaming is dying out, BS!!! Boys are still Boys, get your sons to play a wargame with you, they will love it and spread it to their friends. My 18 year old is playing GMT's Wilderness War with me right now, loves it and now wants to play a game of Totaler Krieg and get one of his friends to play too! It's also a great way for them to kick Dad's &%$ and get away with it. [ September 29, 2002, 07:19 PM: Message edited by: VictorH ]
  13. Frankly, I don't see any reason to make drastic changes to SC. The only problems I have seen are: Low Supply from Alexandria Port. No Ports in Turkey, what happened to Istanbul? The Finns are usually mowed down by the Russians. Partisans in Yugoslavia try to invade Germany, yea right..... That's about it as far I as I see it. Oh by the way, there are many games on WWII better than A3rd Reich. ADG's World in Flames comes to mind. I also liked GDW's Europa Series. [ September 20, 2002, 09:57 PM: Message edited by: VictorH ]
  14. Now that's the problem Hubert. The laptop I was using only supported a 640 * 480 resolution. Can that be fixed?
