  1. Well...

My home is here: Kamppi region / central Helsinki, Finland

All foreign members coming from any existing federation (starts with r-letter), please don't bomb this area. What ever the urge to do so might be. Check Sergei's post for general directions.

The right side of the linked satellite pic is completely redone today, btw. Also, lots of other newer buildings are missing.

Nothing special for areas north of Leningrad, I assume because there's nothing strategically significant there (for this game - only a tiny bit of Finland is shown, and if you take Helsinki, the Finns are out of the game).
We would have never surrendered! And nothing strategically significant out there? How about the Murmansk railway? Significant proportion of the L-L aid to the Russians was channeled through that route, especially in 1941 and 1942. This must be one of the most unrealistically modelled games for ages, I have to say.

    bleep! bleep!

  3. It now appears that the site in question has been somewhat altered!

Balkans in Fire - development site

Still, as sites like these are just marketing tools (not history resources), it might have been a clever ploy to keep those controversial statements. At least the folks might have been more interested about the game thanks to the controversy surrounding it.

What comes to the game itself, T-72's performance is going to be surely a very interesting experience in able and skilful hands!

    A question:

Is the modeled T-72 an import(M1/2?) or a genuine Russian version?

  4. Okay, I go away.

A little sing song, If I may:

I’m Giving Up The Ghost Of Love

In The Shadows Cast On Devotion

She Is The One That I Adore

    Creed Of My Silent Suffocation

Break This Bittersweet Spell On Me

Lost In The Arms Of Destiny

    Bittersweet

    I Won’t Give up

    I’m Possessed By Her

    I’m Wearing A Cross

    She’s Turning To My Good

Break This Bittersweet Spell On Me

Lost In The Arms Of Destiny

    Bittersweet

    I Want You

    (I Want You)

    And I Need You

    (I Need You)

Oh, Break This Bittersweet Spell On Me

Lost In The Arms Of Destiny

Break This Bittersweet Spell On Me

Lost In The Arms Of Destiny

    Bittersweet

  5. As starters, I would want to bring few things to discussion:

    1) Some russian infantry troops (green and conscript variety in CMBB terms) had a bad habit of smoking mahorka (a tobacco substitute made from diseased plants). This is a proven fact.

Incidentally, one was able to smell mahorka smoking russians from few klicks away. Given that the one is situated leeward of the mahorka smoking russians, of course.

So I was wondering, shouldn't a player be able to locate or maybe even spot(!) a russian squad well before any LOS is being achieved.

This mahorka spotting method (MSM) differs from the other ways the russians used to give out their positions (like noise, firing their weapons or simple abstraction).

However, if MSM was already implemented in CMBB, it would have had something to do with Borg spotting. What, I don't know. At least it didn't have anything to do with trainspotting.

    2) AI troops and especially right-minded player individuals shouldn't get axes in CMX2. Shovels should be sufficient.

  6. Distinguished heroes of the Peng thread:

As it now seems to be obvious, a game of ye olde Feifdom is about to start tomorrow. So, those who are still interested about justice and fairness (in strictly anticommunist way, of course) are welcomed to join and to help bringing the evil empire down.

In the previous game there was a slight misunderstanding regarding the concept of the evil empire. I hereby humbly declare that my unallied and unimportant Feifdom is not a member of. However, I'm capable of cooperation.

    With respect

    Sgt Viljuri

  7. Honourable Wafflers!

I'd like bring it to your attention that Feifdom is about to start once again tomorrow. The first round is to last the usual 24 hours so there's now two full days to get your act together.

Frankly, your righteous alliance hasn't been a factor in previous games, so there's a plenty of room for improvement. Considering the filthy tactics that almost all the other alliances use your strong presence would bring lots of fresh air to somewhat stale environment of Feifdom.

    Strength and Honour!

    Yours Sincerely

    Sgt Viljuri
