  1. The guilty thing is probably found  My opponent put both times "extreme fog of war". Now we started a new game with "full fow". I'll let you know...
  2. That can't be right, there has to be something else causing the large size. Can you think of anything it might be?
  3. No, I don't see any enemy troops/tanks and I have placed my troops so, that the enemy certainly won't spot my troops on first minute...
  4. I also like to mention that BEFORE 1.01CDV patch I've played 3 CMBB PBEM-games. 2000pts, medium map, summer day, moderate tree coverage, still (biggest file :864kb) 1500pts, medium map, snow ground, moderate tree coverage, blizzard (biggest file :604kb) 1250pts, medium map, summer day, moderate tree coverage, breeze (biggest file :459kb) Now AFTER THE PATCH, the first 1 minute video : 6,21Mb! Some specs of this QB Tree coverage : moderate Hilliness : modest hills Damage : none Ground : snow Air : snow & strong wind So, all the environment settings are very similar than always before, but the file size has increased 10x! I zipped the 6,21Mb file to 4,3Mb, but still it's too large for a modem player. OH YEAH! And all the games were meeting engagements, so at the beginning there is a lot of moving going on... I cannot afford yet to buy the "all-resolving-ADSL"-connection. [ November 30, 2002, 11:50 AM: Message edited by: Kaiser Soze 71 ]
  5. What happened with the patch? I have started now 2 new CMBB PBEM-games and first one was QB, 2000pts, large map. First movie size was 4,3Mb! We quitted that game and started a new one. The new game was QB, 1250pts, medium map. And with these settings the first movie size was 6,3Mb! We've played 3 QBs before 1.01-patch and none of the file sizes went over 700kb. What has happened? These 6Mb file sizes makes PBEM-gaming impossible for me because I'm behind a crappy modem...
  6. I have to say, that I was a bit disappointed, when I heard about this "D-Day Dodgers", which should be the next Combat Mission. I now want to ask from you guys, what war would you like to see with next CM? Here's my list (the first one is most important) 1. Pacific - USA vs. Japan 2. North Africa - Rommel vs. Monty After these 2 we might advance to even Korean War and Vietnam. Oh! Does anybody know anything about the CMBB patch release date?
  7. Would it be a too huge job to create some kind of "Battle Viewer"-program, where you load all the turn-files in to it and it displays the battle as a movie. I would even pay for a program like that...
  8. I played 2000pts QB ME FIN-SOV. My crack-sniper was placed in good position and he saw 6 Soviet tanks approaching. He started to take out the leaders and 4 tanks stopped. One tank was immobilized and the 3 other tanks didn't move after that at all. I heard 2 death screams from the tanks. 2 Tanks opened up again and my sniper buttoned them up again. But those 2 tanks continued moving to the "action zone" and never opened up again after that. When the battle ended, I was curious to see how many leaders my sniper took out. And the kill info said "No kills...". Then I checked out the stopped tanks and every 4 tanks had 1 casuality. The sniper was the only contact they ever encountered. I thought the end-battle-kill-info will give the true statistic of all kills, but no. Is it supposed to be like that or is it a bug?
  9. Welcome! Try just for fun Command & Conquer-tactics. Buy only tanks and then rush to the enemy's "camp" See how easy it is When playing CM, you really have to think what to do next.
  10. That would be a good tactics - making dummy foxholes & trenches Like in Winter War, Finns slowed down the Russian advance by digging holes in the road and then putting the sand back to those holes. It looked like the road was hastly mined and the Russians had to check every hole while the tanks were waiting Improvising is important!
  11. I'm a bit drunk at the moment - took too many molotov cocktails - but I laughed my ass off!!! Still searching for it...hmmm... maybe it went to the toilet? Don't mess with us! After all we are the ÜberFinns! PELAKKAA POJAT! PERKELE!
  12. First of all, sorry, but I didn't read the previous posts. What I'd like to have in the next patch: I was creating a scenario FIN-SOV and I added one lousy German Kubelwagen in there and the scenario immediately changed to GER-SOV. You should be able to decide who's against who or the game should check how many points have been used to FIN & GER troops and then deciding the "participating" country.
  13. Finland got it - and more importantly - I GOT IT!!! 49,90EUR is a bargain for a game I would have paid 70 or even 80 EURs! Thank you CDV!!!!!
  14. I heard Dose is selling it already in Helsinki... So I will get my piece latest on monday. Hopefully today.
  15. Great news! But that "Only PlayerOne is selling it today"-thing sounds like propaganda. One salesguy from Dose(.net) told that they are also selling it today. I don't know when the shippings arrive in shops, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
  16. I add my info also here. Plan1 (www.plan1.fi) has told that they have actually received copies of CMBB and they have already forwarded them to Finnish shops. SO IT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE TO GET IT TOMORROW!!!
  17. A GLIMPSE OF HOPE! Plan1 (Company, which distributes CMBB to Finnish shops) has told that, they have received copies of CMBB and they have forwarded those to shops! So it may be available tomorrow in shops! Now let's keep our thumbs up (=fingers crossed) and we MIGHT get our hands to CMBB tomorrow!
  18. Nyt perkele alkaa v-käyrä nousta! A couple of stores in Finland has stated, that CMBB will be on their shelves 4th of October (this Friday), but one store said that the official release date is 25th of October (not this Friday, not next Friday, not next Friday, but on next Friday)! DO WE STILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR A MONTH!?!? It really pisses me off, when I know that the game is ready and many people are already playing it and some countries have still to wait for eternity. Yeah, yeah! We have waited this game to arrive for a long time, so what's few extra weeks? The waiting is not easy anymore - the game is ready and they are selling it already in quite many places...but not here...
  19. They should be tracked down and forced into the cess pool of peng!</font>
  20. I actually bought my game from Finnish auction site huuto.net. I paid 35 Euros for it. In shops the price still is about 50 Euros.
  21. Why CM is so damn good? 1. We-go 2. 3D-battlefields 3. You can play almost infinite number of different scenarios 4. Easily customisable (check all those cool mods!) 5. CM's replayability 6. Those damn/cool surprises you get in the game (units do their own decisions rather than obeying yours / when you order your spotter to hit that area with 300mm rockets and then notice that you suffered more than the enemy / your King Tiger is beaten by a sucky Sherman) This game is not perfect - but it's damn good. Now when I have played CMBO for a while, I've noticed that there are number of "But I'd like to do that, but I cannot". Fortunately for almost every single one of my wishes seems to be fulfilled in CMBB. CMBB seems to go as close to perfection as possible... Dammit! Cannot wait...
  22. Damn! This game impressed me as much as UFO Enemy Unknown did during my Amiga days - and that's a HUGE thing. Don't you guys dare to stop in CMBB! We demand more! Much more! *** HUG *** BTW! I seriously considered also to buy "Cycling Manager 2". I went to the official forum and they have totally different kinds of messages in there. If you wanna laugh, check it out. www.cycling-manager2.com They have nothing but heavily dissappointed customers - many of them cannot even get the game to work at all! It's amazing that publisher uses the customers as beta testers...
  23. I'm also waiting for Finnish troops. My fellow country man, you should not forget the legendary "tulta munil!" warcry. In English something like "fire their cocks".
