  1. Most battles were not fought from behind brick walls. The shear number of rounds that the MG-42 could fire was substantialy more then any other MachineGun of the War. Remember, the MachineGuns main prupose is to shoot at enemy soldiers, not the far less numerous half tracks. The MG-42 by all acounts from all sides was said and documented to be the deadliest MachineGun in World War2. This is an unbiased statement mind you. It has not escaped my attention that some refer to these posts as Pro Axis units, wich i'm sure you've all seen your fair share of. If anyone here can post some reading material that tells of the .50 cal or any other MG being superior to the MG-42 please enlighten me. [ July 08, 2002, 08:30 PM: Message edited by: Gaylord Focker ]
  2. There can be little debate over the fact that the Germans produced the most deadly and efficient of machine guns during world war 2. The machine gun was central the Werhmachts doctrine in infantry attack and defense. I realize "machineguns" will be modeled more properly in CMBB but with this simply mean making all machine guns almost equaly as deadly? I see the lack of modeling of the MG-42 as a huge dis advantage to the Germans in CMBO, it would be like hamstringing the American artillary brigades in my opinion. I enjoy CMBO and am looking forward to CMBB, but please give the MG-34 and MG-42 it's due respect as all of it's adversaires did BTS!
  3. Hello again friends, i'm here with another thought. I understand that it was not uncommon for Artillary brigades to fire on enemy Artillary in combat. Quick example is the Neblewerfers, though deadly and intimidating, left a long stream of smoke, a trail if you will right back to the tubes. Yes they were mobile, but did not always escape. Or even even bombardment from the skies on artillary might be able to work in CMBB. Just an idea.
  4. The Geforce 3 is a good video card, the Gforce 4 mx is not my cup of tea. The Geforce 4 ti 4200 is great for most bang for your buck, and the ti 4400 and 4600 are the best around. There are more to video cards then high clock speeds Redwolf. Pixel Shaders and what not to name one of the many nice options offered the on the new video cards. I myself have a GeForce 4 ti 4400, the leadtek one. Though not many games take advantage of all it's features, and yes it is fast, i scored a little over 9000 in 3dmark 2001, the card does make every other game title i've played look better. I do not think it is necessary for anyone to have cutting edge technology to play CMBO, but it does'nt hurt either. </font>
  5. Greetings, i feel that armor quality of all vehicles in the game should be at 100% if it is impossible to model individual tanks with different armor quailities. I feel it is a huge disadvantage for the germans in the game to have every single Panther be modeled as defective armor at 85%. This simply is not realistic. Alot of Panthers probably were, but not all. Since game balance, is not the issue and the creators are going for realism, then why not throw away the all tanks at defective armor values until the engine re-write where it can be modeled properly and realisticly? Just a suggestion.... I do like the rarity option, why not make armor defectiveness an option too? From playing online games you'd think the allies never used plain vanilla shermans, and that more Churchills were produced then T-34's, hehe. 6. In quick battles, why does the attacker always by default have more points to spend? The attacker did not always have the luxury of out numbering the defender. Especialy on the Eastern Front. [ July 06, 2002, 11:31 AM: Message edited by: Gaylord Focker ]
  7. Indeed it is, though i am more looking forward to CMBB at this point.
  8. That 19 inch sony flat screen has a great picture, i have one myself, G 400 is the one i have, i know there is a silver one too. I just recently built myself a new rig. 1.8 ghz Pentium4,Leadtek Geforece ti 4400, 512 mb of ecc RD ram, Santa Cruz sound card, P4t-e motherboard, and it's inside an antec server case. I used all top noth components and i still saved myself well over 1000$ then if i went oem with less quility components and little room for uprades.
