i was the gamer hc was talking about here is how i fixed the problem. There may be a problem with one of your Media Control devices. Either of two devices may be causing the problem: * Wave Audio device * CD Audio device To verify that the Wave Audio device is installed 1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Multimedia. 2. On the Devices tab, double-click Media Control Devices. 3. Make sure that Wave Audio Device (Media Control) is installed. o If it is not installed, install it using the procedure below, and then start this procedure again at step 1. o If it is installed: a. Right-click Wave Audio Device (Media Control), and then click Properties. b. Make sure Use this Media Control device is selected, and then click OK. To install the Wave Audio device 1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add New Hardware. 2. When the Add New Hardware wizard asks, "Do you want Windows to search for your new hardware?" click No, and then click Next. 3. Under Hardware types, click Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and then click Next. 4. Under Manufacturers, click Microsoft MCI. 5. Under Models, click Wave Audio Device (Media Control). 6. Click Next, then click Finish. o If you are prompted to insert the Windows 98 CD-ROM or a Windows 98 disk, follow the instructions on your screen. 7. Restart your computer when you are prompted. hello generals my name is don cantilena (aka) topgun i currentely host the site prowargamers and also the server i have talked to battlefront about hosting sc online and they have told me they will add a link to our server for it . in the meantime you can check out the site it is at prowargamers :cool: currently we host panzer general 2, west front and peoples general but the advantage we have over other servers is that we can add a new lobby to our server in a matter of secs not months that the big servers seem to take . well see yas on the battlefield

my suggestion on a suprised unit is if i am germs for example and a british unit is suprised i think that on the following turn that my unit should be able to attack and retreat . i feel this way for units that are also in place for the next combat phase moving and shooting and staying there is fine but if i am in place next turn i should be able to fire and pull back. also would be nice to see on the units abilty on bottom left of screen its los range. some units i see in the game can find you now matter what because you dont know how far the units los is.

meant airborne assault .

tried allied assault that sound plays fine and all others cant get the irq to change so must be something related to your sound file. evryothe feature of the game plays fine must not recognize how you have sound file set up . because sound effects does not even light up maybe take a look at how it was set up in allied assault.

yes that file is on my system . i am running win98 os . i think the problem lies in the interrupt request. my sound card is on interupt request 11 so it is not the normal request like 7,5,or 10. could this be a possibility. :eek:

downloaded the whole demo again and your patch all my drivers are updated and still can get no sound. my system is a athlon 900 with 256m ram geforce2 64m pci 128 soundblaster i have no problems with any other game but this demo can you help so i can enjoy it by the way the rest plays fine just a little boring with no sound. :eek:

i tried the patch still no sound. my system is a athlon 900 with sound blaster pci 128 ge force2 64m have np with any other game just this . ill try to dl the complete beta version again.

i have no sound when playing the game that option is not hi lighted .also when i tried the new hot seat it freezes game when it goes to next player. :confused:

i see you have the sound files included but no sound exe . are you just waiting for the full version beta or am i missing a file. :confused:
