  1. Hello,

I had a mysterious problem develop when I applied Saturnin's PzIII models (four of them) to the existing stock images. This applies only to his PzIII models, the MarderII looks alright. In all cases the culprit seems to be the .bmp that shows the side profile of the AFV as can be seen in the pic:

    PzIIIpink.jpg

To verify this I returned just the original side profile image to one of the tanks and the pink problem went away. I have successfully replaced numerous images/.bmps so far without a problem but this one baffles me.

I am using CMBB v1.02 now but the problem exists in v1.01 as well. I've tried reinstalling the orginals then applying his images but the problem still exists. I have tried to contact the author about this, but he hasn't responded yet. Using a Mac G4/GeForce3/9.2.2

They are very beautiful looking mods, but the pinkness prob. is quite distressing. Perhaps I have an errant or mis-numbered file somewhere in the BMP folder that causes this(?) Can anyone help on this one?

  2. Sadly, when I try to use icExcel (I have the current version, 1.2 for Mac) I am warned: "This Excel file format is too old. icExcel can open files created by Excel 95 or newer only."

Any other mac folk having this prob? I've tried the version for 9 and X. Could someone possibily convert these to .pdf or know of an app that might open these properly?

I've tried converting the files to Appleworks via Maclinkplus but that doesn't work either. Grrrrrrrrr

  3. The problem might be memory or file related.... have you tried rebuilding the desktop lately? Its recommended that you do this once a month. TechTool lite (free) does a better job of doing this (rebuilding) then the usual command-option technique. I also use Speed Disk (via Norton Utilities) to defrag the HD and this I find to do wonders as far as restoring "speed".

My machine will start to bog down too if I’ve been playing CMBB for quite awhile in combination with having had other apps (esp. memory hungry ones) open previously etc., but a restart and the periodic maintenance listed above usu. clears up any problems. Forgive me if I've mentioned something you already know.

[edit: specs of my machine if your'e wondering; G4 800DP 640MB RAM, GeForce3]

  4. Have you tried the Apple site for the right/current drivers?... go here:

click here and do a search for Nvidia. They have the 3.0 drivers there. {I just looked}. I assume you have run software update no?

I am sorry you are having problems. I've got a dualie G4800 w/GeForce3 and no problems. One thing that might help is to disable all ATI extensions if you have a Nvidia card.

[edit: well, it does look like the drivers don't apply to the iMac after all. Sorry ... if I find anything of use, I'll post it]

  5. Sorry guys,

I posted it as an aiff because the mac version of CMBB uses aiff format for the opening music. I didn't realize the PC version uses wav.

Just to clarify, most of the sounds on the Mac are indeed .wav but 9 of them are .aiff including the opening music [ 00005010.aiff]

  6. *** Also: has anyone noticed a weird transparent effect on the new Turan II model? It's the one with the skirts. You can see through the skirts into the turret, as if there are no turret side graphics. (Sorry--can't post a screenshot.)
In case anyone was wondering what that looked like:

    Tur2.jpg

Note: just fired up v1.0 of the game and the same condition inflicts the Turan II there as well. Its only really noticable at the camera 1 position.
