  1. www.combatopinion.com is closing down. Thank you for your participation. I am also withdrawing from the Combat Mission Community. I've met alot of good people here and unfortunatly some not so good ones. Lost interest do to the latter. It's been a blast. I also have to take the liberty to let you know what ticked me off, see below. Swamp "After review and discussion with the other Chat Operators I have decided to issue a one week (7 day) suspension to you from the CMHQ Chat Server effective immediately. At the time of your reinstatement and as long as you remain a member of the chat community you will not engage in ANY politically motivated or charged discussions regardless if you are goaded, encouraged or challenged to do so. You will use the chat system to find game opponents and nothing more. If you disobey this restriction I will place you on the permanent ban list and you will never be allowed to return to the chat system and use its facilities therein. You have a past on the chat system Jason, and many people object to what you have said or what you believe in. Do not let your self be dragged into discussions with them, just use the chat to play the game and ignore anything else while online. There will be no more warnings. That is all. 3. If there likely are no enemy units within LOS and within 150 meters, you should use the run command. Swamp
  4. Points have already been made on who the better players are. Aside from that, for me, TCP/IP ladder games with a timer are more engrossing, exciting, intense, etc. This adds up to maximum enjoyment for me. Others get maximum enjoyment with a different formula. Swamp
  5. Treeburst, I sent you two purchases last week. You sent me my battle against Major Taktik. You have my one against Wreck. I'm now sending you the other five hoping you will still put these together for me. Swamp
  6. Fionn, I think you feel the big stuff dominates the battlefield and takes little skill to use. I say "I think" because I've heard you say before that the bigger arty takes more skill to use because it is slow. Well, I think you are wrong about the bigger stuff dominating. This is why most ladder players I see don't use your rules. From what I see at TH, there needs to be rules making Ubertanks and big arty mandatory if it is every going to be used. As for your idea of ladder players. You are wrong, and I don't know where you got the idea from. Swamp [ June 15, 2002, 10:47 PM: Message edited by: Combat Opinion Staff ]
  7. Well I don't mind if my opponent buys big arty, it costs so much and is so slow. But non-the-less, I will change my rules to panther 76. [ June 14, 2002, 07:35 PM: Message edited by: Combat Opinion Staff ]
  8. Hmm, ok a new rule for mine which I'll edit in: no nebelwerfers. As for King Tigers, Super Pershings, etc in heavy trees? I don't think that's an problem. Swamp
  9. Well I can tell you what I see at TH. Everyone there buys 105mm, 4.2 inch, and 120mm, priests, sextons, cromwells, shermans, HMCM8's, hellcats, jacksons, hetzers, PZIV's, StuGs, StuHs. We evolved past the big wastes of purchasing points a long time ago. Edit: forgot to meantion: at TH, fast arty kills. Swamp [ June 14, 2002, 07:04 PM: Message edited by: Combat Opinion Staff ]

  12. Treeburst, fair enough. Let us determine if our battle is an attack/defend or meeting engagement? Thank you for your dedication. Swamp
