do what i did - cancel the order at play and buy from the guys you should have in the first place. Patiently for waiting the download section to open

can i add also that i had pre ordered from Play.com and they had a date of 27/7 but this morning that has been changed to 10/8 (dates the proper way round for confused US readers!) - do i cancel and preorder with your goodselves or is the date about to change?

Forgive me - its been a huge amount of time since i last posted - 2001/2 i think. I have lurked, and now wait patiently for CM:SF, but when i was last here Fionn seemed to be doing whole swathes of AARs as the Germans and i spent days reading them - they were great - did it all go wrong, or have i got the wrong man

Can i also add praise to another unsung hero....Ron....i played my second PBEM against him, and consequently at least half a dozen others, all different QBs and he has schooled, taught and assisted me at every turn to make sure i get as much pleasure from this game as poss. i have had my arse kicked all over my rather nice grass mod, Axis or Allies, 1000pts or 5000pts, his lessons have been cruel AND fair, you know what i mean: mistakes punished and praise given...i would consider him a CMBO mentor who has improved my play no end, helpful emails between posts, the works......i thank him heartily and will only mention once the fact that i beat him for the first time last week

Hey Gen, i'm only learning!!!!!!! I wouldnt be asking for your opinion if i knew that the Churchill gun fires 'em like bowling balls, and the Panther could reverse faster than the shell as it approached!!!! I read that some people prefer heaps and heaps of infantry, but surely no matter how much i have, a direct HE round to the face is going to make my troops move!!!!!!

It was mod hills and mod trees.....his Panthers are sat on hills, and whilst i had my own tanks on my hills....sadly they were Panthered...i took 8 Churchill VIIIs, seven of them lie smoking, all facing his Panthers, all sticking out their big armoured frontage, all in their time fired four or five shots at his Panthers, each.....the crew may as well have carried the shells up the hill themselves and rammed them into his armour by hand, BTW, thats another question i meant to ask - Reg. tankers or Vet., i took 3 Pershings, 1 Jumbo, and 8 Churchills, all of them needed a good 3 or 4 shots before hitting the target, and they had been parked in that position since the start of the game...and these were Reg tankers...never, ever again!!!! Whilst i accept all incoming advice from sturdy veterans, and i know my PBEM opponent is watching, he's already commented on my new M18 addiction, i think Commissar has steered my rightly, i have read his posts from when he was a wee fledgling tanker, getting mashed by his obstinate PBEM opponent, his next match with M18s seemed to solve his problems......i'll give it a try and get back to you....its his turn to choose next, i have an awful feeling he's going to want to be Allies and i sense the M18 factory working overtime!!!!! Splendid advice, in particular, the TD advice, the PBEM opponent in question is spying on this thread, having told me in todays e-mailings, but i'm going to say this anyway, yonks ago i downloaded a hi res mod for the M18, and never used it, the opponent in question did however, raced right round the pitch and shot me in my arse...anyway, having read the above advice i thought i'd review the litte fella to see his stats, and there before me on the screen was the sexiest, raciest bastard of a tank ever - my long forgotten, now to be used in massed squads of Panther ass kicking groups, the M18 - its gorgeous, and i'll be ordering 25 for my next 5000pt battle, ooo and ive just updated my M8 HMC, ill take some of those too!!!!

I'm fairly new (8 months -ish), and havent seen it discussed in much depth...and my question is prompted by a severe mauling at the hands of 10 Panthers in a 5000pt PBEM, now i did take SOME Pershings, but quite clearly not enough.......my question to you all out there is do you personally choose a handful of veteran monsters in this position, or would you have taken great buckets full of Stuarts and M4s....AND, if buckets full of tiddlers is the response, do you have to be prepared to sacrifice some for the greater good, because i love my tanks i really do, and the loss of just one upsets me.....

you have to do a bit of fiddling around with the BMP names.....the names of the files you download arent used by CMBO, but in the read me file that comes with the download, he explains which BMP replaces what ie: 1415(a real CMBO BMP) which is dawn lo res, you have downloaded 1435 which is dawn high-res, but your game is still using 1415, you need to change 1415 to something like 1415-original, and change 1435 to 1415, hey presto....phew

But how do i choose 4000 pts??? On my setup screen it goes from 1000,1250,1500,2000,3000,5000...no 4000 or even higher than 5000...what gives why cant i have 3500 battles

I have no idea what untold abuse from regulars i will receive, but....a recent Pbem i played had me with 5250 points as an attacker in an assault QB, which means the defender had 4000pts, so..... after losing terribly we agreed to reverse, but can i set up a 4000pt QB......Noooooooo...3000 or 5000 so...hows it done?? :confused:

I'm just awe struck......truly....i told my wife i'd post on the main forum one day, and here it is...i even called her to the pc to see it, i'll print it and show it to my kids...when i have some...im speechless, wahooo, the bright lights of the 'proper' players forum, who use abbreviations and posh words....like...like...doctrine (gasp), i'll get my wife....oooo please let me play, please....
