Multi-Turreted Tank in CMBB!!
Ryan Crierie replied to Ryan Crierie's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
No, look carefully at my ingame screenies... it's TWO turrets -
The Twin Turreted T-26 M1931 was in one of my recent QBs and I had a grenadier platoon waste it from 5 ft away and then gun down the crew... does this mean we might see the M-3 Grant? [ October 06, 2002, 09:06 PM: Message edited by: Ryan Crierie ]

Shermans and Burning Too easily.....
Ryan Crierie posted a topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Did Russian tankers follow the same practices that US tankers did, IE, stuffing ammo into every available nook and cranny, disregarding ammo stowage practices? That's what caused the sherman to be notorious for brewing up so easily... ammo crammed everywhere outside wet stowage compartments, NOT the gasoline engines, because Germany used gasoline engines in all of their panzers. Small suggestion for upcoming patch...
Ryan Crierie replied to Uedel's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Give all the german infantry the same 3D arms as the gerbirgjsaegers.....I want to be able to model the GD armbands.... -
Can you allow it so that operation maps can be as small as battle maps? I'd like to do some operation depicting stalingrad city fighting, to depict how scores of blood was shed over such insignificant locations as a house, but the limitations of operations to a map 1200m by 250m really puts a crimp in it..... That, and the fact that older systems wouldn't be capable of handling an operation on such a scale without coughing heavily...... What I'd like to be able to do is show the fighting on a scale of several city blocks over several days, rather than half the city of stalingrad... What Should Be in the Patch?
Ryan Crierie replied to Commissar's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
I'd like to see the PRINT SCREEN key remapped to output a full color bitmap or TGA file of what's on the screen at the moment to the CMBB directory... Some computers cannot ALT-TAB out from CMBB without crashing, and having to save the pix outside of CMBB is annoying, especially if you want to take a lot of pictures.... -
Possibly? If you are going to give us the wrong 3D shape for the IS-3, why not just delete it from the game? I'm a stickler for accuracy, and I'd rather see a completely blue non-textured IS-3 in the correct shape than a fully textured IS-3 using the IS-2 3D model.... Just give us the 3D model for the IS-3 and T-44, and let the modders work on doing the textures, OK? [ September 24, 2002, 11:03 AM: Message edited by: Ryan Crierie ]

SPOILER SPACE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE TEH GAME...... . . . . .. . . . . . . . .. .. . . . . . That tank is NOT the IS-3, despite what it says in the game data...... THIS is the IS-3... Note the distinctive Frying Pan Turret and the sharply pointed prow on the lower hull..... [ September 23, 2002, 09:25 PM: Message edited by: Ryan Crierie ]

I cannot install the game at all!
Ryan Crierie replied to Cribtop Gamer's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Disable your antivirus software, people. Norton Antivirus does NOT LIKE CM:BB install, and I had to reboot 2 times, and had to redetect my hard drives after those 2 times...... -
Heeeeeelp CMBB doesn`t install correctly !!!!!!!!
Ryan Crierie replied to Stickel's topic in Combat Mission - Tech Support
Fixed it by making a copy of the CD on my other computer.....thanks BTS for trusting us and not loading us down with safedisc, or manuals on PDF files unlike a certain company whose name starts with an M. But you MUST fix this problem ASAP, and FIRE your CD dupe house, and destroy all stocks you have now, and start fresh with a new house to fix this critical issue. This is the kind of issue that can destroy consumer confidence..... -

My order number: 80364 Pentium IV 1.4 Ghz from Dell running Win ME, and 512 MB Ram and a combination DVD/CD-RW drive and it chokes during the install, at file 91200.wav and I just found a wierd curlicuque dent on the very edge of the CD...... My suggestion: NEVER USE THAT CD-DUPLICATION HOUSE AGAIN! -
From PEST PATROL: http://www.safersite.com/Support/Revision_History.asp Do CM and CM:BB use GetTickCount? OOH found another one: http://www.safersite.com/Support/FAQ/Troubleshooting.asp So the bug CAN be worked around......BTS, look into this possibility as soon as is BFCally possible.... Due to DELL making their copy of Windows ME into a personalized version, only DELL PCs running OEM Win ME exhibit this strange behavior in Combat Mission: The fast forward button does not work, instead causing the time to read like: 00:-12342 And the turn goes on and on and on and on and on.... This is not a problem unique to Combat Mission. Space Empires IV also has a problem with Win ME as provided by DELL, and from that game, I know the proper name: "Range Check Error" The solution to this problem is simple: Let your PC run for about 30 minutes to an hour before playing CM:BO or CM:BB and everything will work properly.... BTS, fix or do somefink! I can't wait an hour just to play CM:BB properly when it arrives!

Most of the impetus for MODing CM:BO came from the fact that all of the original BMPs were hideously washed out, and low in quality. But now with Kwazydog's work, I can't find anything wrong with his work. it's EXCELLENT. I think the big mod scene for CM:BB will be historically accurate paint schemes for a certain front, or time period, like this: The T-34-76 Model 1942. South-Western Front, Kharkov area. March 1942. The T-34-76 Model 1941 of the 1st Guards Tank Brigade, Western Front, January 1942. And lets not forget the unpainted T-34s that were sent into action at Stalingrad: T34/76 STZ "Naked Desperation" by Adam Wilder at Missing Links [ September 15, 2002, 11:14 PM: Message edited by: Ryan Crierie ]

Ryan Crierie replied to Ryan Crierie's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Nah, 'sokay. It took me over 3 hours to figure out the simple way to do it rather than reskinning the shoulder boards totally. This work? Unless I can flatten out the 3D model there, this is what we'll be stuck with, an angled GD logo. [ September 10, 2002, 12:04 AM: Message edited by: Ryan Crierie ] -

Ryan Crierie replied to Ryan Crierie's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Success Mk 2: This is an unedited original CMBB figure, using my newly discovered ratio for the GD logo..... Mike Dorosh, I think I can provide you with (1) pantsload of GD mods by the time CM:BB is shipped!
