  1. Thumpre....Did you not get my reply on 15NOV, file no 5....I will send again. Havn't played so much CMBO since I first got the game in July!...I must try and pace myself. Excellent, devilish scenarios.
  2. I have just finished playing this scenario against one of my Pbem partners, playing as Axis, and found what appeared to be a higher degree of misses by armour on both sides, even at engagement distances of 50-350m.
  3. Treeburst, thank you for all your hard work in organising this tournament. To my opponents in Section 2 (Jack_Trap, Thumpre, A1steaks, Ricochet, and White 4), looking forward to blowing you all to hell and beyond. This is my first tournament, so more likely I will get to see hell rather than you! I have read the list of "gamey" play, and will let each of you know where I stand before we begin combat! I agree with most of it,I would not use dehorsed AFV crews, or teams that have lost their weapons, for scouting, or rushing flags. I will not set fire to unoccupied tiles (intentionally!) I like the idea of playing to "would you give this order in real life?" Most of all looking forward to some fun and meeting new opponents! I live in GMT timezone, and have never played TCP/IP but would be willing to give it a try. Not sure how to best approach the order of play, but will play 2 games simultaneously.
  4. I thought that....provided you counted the correct number of seconds before throwing it....the Holy Grenade of Antioch was the best weapon against a Priest.
  5. I visited Copenhagen once.................... If you still have room declankerney@aol.com Thanks
  6. Re Sgt Kelly's experience with the shocked HT's, I have had similar experiences. My guess is that the Commander is also the operator of the MG, and when he is injured/killed the HT can no longer fire....No other crewmember to take his place, but can still function normally for movement orders.
  7. As well as hearing them pass overhead, and see their shadow zoom over the ground, you may also see a yellow target line from the vehicle or unit being attacked up to the passing aircraft as it attacks. In my limited experience there is a very significant risk of suffering "friendly" fire from aircraft.
  8. Xerxes, how are smaller squads easier to deploy? Do more of them fit into small buildings, or are Halftrack capacities measured by number of men rather than per squad?. Forgive me if I am asking a stupid question, but still quite new to the game, and this may be a new factor to consider when making my infantry selections.
  9. I have not played that scenario yet, but discovered that I could not reproduce fog on my PC. After no luck trying the CM manual correction for this, I discovered through the search of tech help that ATI cards do not support this. The fog is not there, but its game effect of reduced visibility is.
  10. Like MickeyD I think CMBO have done a very good job modelling CAS. The uncertainty of wether you will get a strike or not, the distinct possibility it will cause you harm as well as the enemy. Not sure if it would be possible to time the passage of the Jabo shadow across the known width/length of the map to arrive at a groundspeed for the aircraft, but in theory this should be possible.
  11. Read somewhere recently that that was done in real life, abandoned tanks shot at to destroy them.
  12. As a newbie who has been playing avidly for a few weeks to try and gain some experience, I thought I was learning well from gameplay and reading the postings on this website. Then today I tried "Fire and Maneuver" by Bill Hardenberger, and just had my ass Whupped by the AI. I crawled away singed to try some easier scenarios and gain further experience, but I will definitely be back to that scenario again! I have tried to play as much as possible as attacker v AI, as the AI handles Defense better.
