That's cool Z I was in 2nd bat myself, although doubtless years before your time.

ME? US Army, 2/75th Rangers, 1-325 PIR (82nd ABN) and 2/7th SFG ODA 752. I served as a 13F (forward observer) and as 18E (SF commo guy).

  2. Except losing Matt to some kids game company. From the pictures I saw from the 3rd Annual CMvention, it would appear that the first kids game company that offers him a comfortable rug and free beer will wind up stealing him away from us!
The biggest thing that BFC must fear from Matt's end of things is that he may be 'distracted' by a female with the right anatomical proportions...

  3. Great answer Martin.

The fact is that competition is what drives innovation. It is exciting to me that there is recognition by multiple game companies of market potential in this field. As computers get more powerful, this can only help the genre.

It is disconcerting to watch huge companies like EA/Activision gobble up their smaller competitors. It hurts us as gamers - a great example is the wonderful, but flawed, Rome: Total War game. EA has restricted the developers to 2 patches and given them time limits. Thus now that the two patches are out, a potentially great game is reduced to simply a good game for impartial financial considerations. Now Rome: Total War players must wait for (and then pay for) the game expansion to get a patch and features that were advertised and should have been available with the original title.

BFC has nothing to be afraid of, and a whole lot to look forward to.

  4. Hey all!

    Pics are here!

    Cmvention Pics

things have been fast and furious since thursday, when most of the folks began to arrive.

This year we have 14 attendees here in Myrtle Beach. Having a blast so far. Yesterday (saturday) we drove down to Charleston to visit the Patriot's Point museum. Saw the aircraft carrier Yorktown, a sub, a destroyer, a coast guard cutter and a bunch of vietnam equipment and civil war cannons.

Madmatt is running around like Santa Claus handing out copies of T72, Dangerous Waters, books, and juicy tidbits about BFC's upcoming projects.

We have already killed one keg of beer and are working on canned beverages now, as well as Winecape's generously donated single malt scotch whiskey selection.

    Pics to come!

PS - Winecape your single malt scotch is a BIG hit. The quote of hte day yesterday was "Wow! You can smell the peat burning!"
