  1. Technically we probably still could, but we will probably push it into 2010 so we can enjoy the Holidays without pressure to release and/or support. And by "we" I mean us poor saps that have to make the thing, not you lucky buggers who just get to play it :D

    Steve

good to hear! BF got caught "with its pants down" when you released CMSF - I certainly did not want that to happen to CMN!

    :)

  2. From the Beeb

It does seem to me that healthcare is an open pit in which any civilisation can pour unlimited money. I am not totally sure but my gut feeling is that it is probably a ruinous way to go - probably as useful as military science in not leading to anything productive. When you consider the improved infrastructure/energy resources that would be more beneficial to the US overall it does seem dumb.

Healthcare particularly does rile me as man is born to die and delaying it at huge cost seems to be daft economically if "humane". Analogous to us pouring money into clunkers to extend their usefulness. Wasting assets should be recognised as such.

Medical science will continue to invent more complicated and expensive ways to deal with even more illnesses. A line needs to be drawn as to what a state can be expected to cover, and what people can spend on their medical hobby.

After some thought a cure. Perhaps every citizen is given a notional sum to pay for healthcare - to last them their life. As it is their "money" that they are spending then they will be cautious about wasting it. They will, if sensible, avoid dangerous sports, poor eating habits, unhealthy sexual partners. Once their allotment is up the state has no further aid to give them and they can spend their own savings.

Illnesses covered would not include lifestyle choices like plastic surgery, IVF treatment, psychiatric etc.

Given the uneducated masses and the scare-mongering to use drugs it would seem advertising should be banned. In any event items bought would be for real cash. The notional state cover would be for emergency treatment/hospital and life prolonging treatment up to the limit.

    I WANT MY AMERICA BACK!

    I WANT MY AMERICA BACK!

    I WANT MY AMERICA BACK!

    OH SAY CAN YOU SEE,

    BY THE DAWN'S EARLY LIGHT

    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

oh...wait a minute...I can't disrupt this text like I do at the townhall meetings! curse you internet!!!

  3. I'm not sure, I never bought it. I picked up Steel Fury instead, that's certainly worth $20. Although I paid the $40 when it was released, no regrets.

OK, i will keep my eye open for Steel Fury!

I read some reviews and player comments on WBT and it does not appear to be a very good game. The game has a lot of bugs, multiplayer and LAN are said to be broken, there is almost no interest in this game 1 year after the release. such a shame...

  4. About halfway in the following thread.

    http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272293&page=2

It existed, though the question remains: when?

Such a crude botch job seems more wartime emergency measure then something you'd cook up after the war with so much Sovjet material available.

Then again, the markings are rather curious. I thought they used the Balkenkreuz?

    excellent find! :)

I see that this tank appears to be a partially opentopped vehicle.

  5. punt!

My friend and I used to play coop (two players as same civilization) on the RTS game Age of Empires II against AI and/or humans around 10 years ago. It was quite fun and made the game much easier for our civ. This method of play allowed us to beat much better human players due to reducing the twitch level needed to fight battles, move units, collect resources. very fun indeed!

    :)

  6. This is a picture of from the Atlanta Model Expo June 2009 (the person hosting the pic attending the event and did not make the model/diorama)

The model appears to be a Panzer IV tank (Bulgarian according to the stand) but has a gun that looks like the main armament on a Russian SU-76. Was this a "one off" vehicle (field conversion)? limited production/conversion? something created by the model builder?

  7. Moaners was said with a wry smile.

The trouble with the net is that as 90% of communication is through body language\tone of voice things get a little skewed.

No offence was men't. I moan as good as the rest of them. I'm just saying CMSF had quite abit of bad press out there (especially just after release)which I listened too. I was greatly suprised at how good the game was.

Sorry if I seemed like a fanboy I'm not. Just very pleased to see the game come on so much and feel its a shame that it got a bad name in its infancy.

NP, I don't see you as a fanboy! And I am really glad you like CMSF!

    :)

However, many gamers were surprised at how buggy CMSF was upon release and are not quite as enthusiastic about this title as you. I would not call them moaners the same as I would not call you a fanboy.

    :)

  8. Ibuypower.

    http://www.ibuypower.com/

(oh, saw someone posted it already)

FWIW...the other day I noticed the director of our microscope facility using a computer that was "glowing" from internal lights. I took a closer look at his rig and noticed that it is an ibuypower computer. He said it is an excellent gaming rig and that he is using one at the lab for intense graphical computations/presentations.
