  1. When I start CMBB I am told nothing, its only after I get past the credits that I get this game requires minimum 800 x 600 display. Nothing else is said. Don't know what display setting it goes to. Using Windows 98 and have latest directX 8.1 Driver for Rage Pro is ati2drae.drv release version: J5.30.1-BOS Voodoo2 3D is dated 7-13-1998. Rage pro is only 8mb. I haven't beeen able to get that far so don't know if it crashes yet. [ September 29, 2002, 12:35 PM: Message edited by: BlueFalcon ]
  2. By the way I have a Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2X Card.
  3. I am having the minimum 600 x 800 message as video card subject. Problem is I am using Windows 98 and have an ATI video card believe is 16 mb and am using a voodoo 3d card. Would appreciate any help. Already installed directX.

  5. A few hints, that may or may not have been mentioned. NEVER send out a tank before the infantry has cleared the way. It will die and then the infantry will die. Always make sure that you fire upon enemy units with more than one of your own units. A quick way to waste ammo is to have each unit fire on a different unit. MAXIMUM FIREPOWER! In defense make sure each unit can fire into a portion of the units to either side's kill zone. Otherwise you will lose units piece meal. In military terms this is known as intersecting fields of fire. The army may want you to think its cool to be an army of one, but in reality the only thing being alone will get you, is killed. Cover advancing troops! Being shot at in the open makes it real hard to shoot back. Make sure someone else can put the enemies heads down. Those advancing are worying about otherthings. Hope this helps. [ 06-04-2001: Message edited by: BlueFalcon ]
  6. ...you try to make a move for sex. Your wife says she has a headache and before she can get her next retort your sitting at the computer firing up CMBO... ------------------ Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die!!!
  7. A trick to computer set up. Set it up. Before, after or while you are e-mailing the file to your opponent open said file, give it your own password (password is not set till after this turn), now look at your opponents force. He can never look at yours (he doesn't have this opportunity) he will never know you know what you know (what you say?) and probably doesn't realize you can do this. Now before the backlash begins, I have never done this (honestly), though I was tempted as all heck one time. Beware the computer set up, especially when you are receiving the first file. So, are computer set ups just a screen for "gamey" players? ------------------ Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die!!! [This message has been edited by BlueFalcon (edited 03-14-2001).]
  8. Bass Fishing!!! What does bass fishing have to do with deer hunting? This is a land based game. You cannot compare the three. Next thing we'll start talking dove hunting! Can't one thread stay on topic!?! ------------------ Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die!!!
  9. So.... Hear me out... If a vehicle driving down the freeway is moooving (manoooooverist) and a deer is sitting in the middle of the road eating its cud (atritetion) and said car collides with said deer do they not reverse their polarity. the manooooverist stops (attrition) and the deer mooooooves (manoooooverist). now the winner is the one who buckled their seatbelt, right?
  10. Now for all the talk of deer, it seems you have forgotten one important group. The moooodeer. These are those black and white (I know not all moooodeer are black and white, but I like to keep things simple) animals which are hunted by Yanks and city folk. Now while you would assume that a moooodeer would be a maneuooooueverist they are realy atrisionists, as they don't move to much. Unless you milk them with cold hands, but I digress that is more of a social argument then a military one. Bottom line, gamey or not moooodeer are cows too. ------------------ Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die!!!
  11. I would bet it would be much easier to achieve this in TCP/ IP than PBEM, where you have plenty of time to analyze all posibilities. TCP/ IP with a time limit, things seem to cook under a little more preassure. ------------------ Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die!!!
  12. Lets see... $45 for the game. At least 2 hours of lost productivity at work a day since September, searching for mods, reading boards, and reading news. Flowers, gifts and other items to bribe wife and keep her happy. Toys and bribes for child. Lost sleep, lost social activity, & lost pbem games. The latter causing grief and agony, which required liquid counseling and self-esteem re-building. But in the end, CMBO is more than a bargain considering I have not purchased another game nor any other leisure item for that matter, since I no longer go out. The only problem is the money I save my wife spends, but I guess as long as it allows me to play CMBO without to much grief, its worth every penny. ------------------ Ours is not to reason why, ours is to do or die!!!
