1. How does the computer spend its points when purchasing units (in "computer allocated" unit selection rather than "humans choose") - is it completely random or weighted towards either good (points vs punch) or historical units? Or, of course, none of the above. Neil ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know?
2. From Jeff Heideman Quote - "In fact, when I play the Allies and see a KT or some similar vehicle come creaking and lumbering up the hill, nothing make sme happier. Now I know exactly where all his armor points are, and can deal with them without fear of being taken by surprise." - endquote Now I'm not (by any stretch of the imagination) a grog - I play the game 'cos it's fun, I personally don't give a stuff about historical accuracy in TO&E, but EVEN to me this sounds like gaminess. (not having a pop - just an observation) On a slightly related issue I have a question - how does the computer spend its points when purchasing units - is it completely random or weighted towards either good or historical units? I'd appreciate ANY help on that one. TIA Neil ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know? 3.
quote:
Originally posted by phil stanbridge: Hi Wesy, I've got a 900mhz TBird and I had serious issues with CM when running Win ME. I talked at length with a few people on this board and at first I thought it was heat related. But turns out not to be the case. Anyway, downgrading to 98SE has fixed it for me. It might actually be driver realted - more than likey I'd say but trying to establish what it was was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Anyway, no more crashes for me now, not even in tcp. Just food for thought. Like others say here, keep your drivers up to date, but watch out for the old/new graphics drivers. Read the readme supplied with the patch! One thing to note - CM is a LOT quicker with a Tbird than the equivalent PIII [This message has been edited by phil stanbridge (edited 01-19-2001).]

Oh yeah - I had this problem as well. Win ME just wouldn't work, similarly dropping down to 98 fixed it. Neil ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know?
4. I've got a TBird 800 & ABIT KT7-RAID combo and they work fine. No problems whatsoever. Neil ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know?
5. Learn to appreciate On-Line shopping instead of CM? Neil ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know?
6. Playing a QB against my brother last night - I had a CRACK inf squad HIDDEN in a house when a German inf squad crests a hill approx 700m distant... My IDIOTS started firing, drawing fire from the 8-9 German squads slowly advancing across the map. I demand the facility (in game) to Court Martial the leader of that squad! 7. IMHO the best solution would be to have UP TO +/- 20% of the game length as a random modifier in a nice (flattish) bell curve kinda probability way. i.e. a 20 turn battle could end on any of turns 16 to 24 with (slightly) higher chance of it ending around turn 20. Just my 2p's worth, although as BTS said, it's all pretty academic now. Also you could use one of the many random number servers on the internet if you wanted to use Schugger's house rule and wanted to ensure no cheating... 8. Brit-speak, surely you mean "The Queens English". Lose the bint though - if she wasn't producing the show she wouldn't have a hope of being in it at all! Neil ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know?
9. Chelsea? Could be worse I s'pose - could be the *dirty cheatin Mancs* (altogether now - Boo! Hiss!) Go Gillingham. ------------------ I don't sing. I don't dance. I ain't blue. Anything else you need to know?
