  1. On a Mac press Alt + Shift + 3. The file will appear on your hard disk called Picture 1. Subsequent screenshots take subsequent numbers. On a PC press Ctrl + Print Screen. This saves the screen to the clipboard. Then open Paint and use Ctrl + v to paste to a new document. Then save at your leisure.
  2. Likewise. Can we pre-order CM2 yet?
  3. From the point of view of quick battles I always treat the VL's as the point of the battle exactly as you would in a scenario. Although there is no briefing for a QB I form one in my own mind as 'take and hold the following objectives' which are the VL's. The idea is that this avoids the 'gamieness' described in other threads where players hug the map edges. All the people I've played so far (half a dozen) seem to treat VL's in the same way. The point of a meeting engagement is that both sides were going somewhere in the first place and there's that place, marked with a flag, you can't miss it!
  4. I've tried following in right behind a barrage. Be prepared to lose some of your own troops while you're practising. The first time I tried I wiped out one of my own platoons
  5. You just have to resist the temptation sometimes and test yourself with what the Germans would have really had. Platoons didn't consist of just SMG squads, so even if fighting in the woodlands try to keep the realism. If BTS have gone to all the trouble of producing the most realistic war game ever then why spoil that by using unreal unit selection. If you find your opponent is doing this then don't play him again. CM gives you the opportunity to get into the shoes of a company commander for real (very nearly). Yes they might have wanted SMG's and King Tigers but they were losing the industrial battle and just couldn't produce them. If you're good then test yourselves! Tuppence worth
  6. Has anyone tried with the Brit squads? They seem to have lower fire power already so I've not tried.
  7. The main advantage of PBEM to me is that you can play across time zones. I'm in the UK and can attack the US or something like that. Also over here we have piss poor technology so 56k is top speed. I haven't played on TCP/IP but I'm guessing it won't be quite such an experience at that speed.
