  2. It wasn't enough for him to beat the stuffing out of me in one of my first AK games. He took my sig, my beautiful 256+ character sig! He then slapped me so hard with a right wing propaganda slogan it left a mark for a month. Forgiveness? No, not in this lifetime.

  4. If I'm running a company or battalion then definitely not. I do also play smaller games, or pieces of smaller games, however, where I might need that level of control. -dale </font>
  5. Sure, _Axe_ may be a putz, but how many of you monkey nuts have ever been featured in a mod?
  6. <h2>BEHOLD!</h2> It's not every day that a modder pays such loving attention to the details, the glint off the spectacles, the homo-erotic mustaches, the angry scowls... I can't wait to kick some serious  ss using this mod. [ March 20, 2005, 07:52 PM: Message edited by: 86smopuim ]

  9. I'm not sure. I did install the hippest latest not too long ago. no, I am not. I will try that if needed, see below. Suprisingly, this didn't help me. there is an even better article here: http://www.viaarena.com/Default.aspx?PageID=5&ArticleID=9 apparently anything and everything can cause this bug    Truely brutal. I didn't try this yet. I did inspect hardware for any obvious damage, felt by the C/GPUs for heat. It wasn't overheating and I saw no obvious damage.. I did try all sorts of bios settings to no effect. My last resort was "set to bios defaults", then I disabled 8x AGP support Set AGP aperature size to 512m and a couple other power management tweaks. With these settings I have run the 3dbench mark tests through for 3 passes now, and no lockups, when before it was locking up 100% of the time somewhere in the first pass. Luck? Only a few TCP/PBEM CMAK games will tell.
  10. interesting... there may be hope for me yet http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/3968.html and more to the point http://members.home.nl/marf/Infinite%20Loop.html the thing is I already tried adjusting bios stuff. maybe a bit more adjusting and I will have some luck...
  11. at risk of being too many chefs my fear is the company charged him for a video card he never recieved. do you have 1 or two plug ins on your computer for video? here is what they look like: note it has 15 holes. It'scalled a db15 plug. Note: the db15 looks very similar to the db9 "serial" plug here: which has... well nine holes or pins in it. Theyare NOT the same thing. your computer will have 1 or 2 db9 plugs. If you have only 1 vga plug on your puter, you probably got ripped off by said computer store, and you can trust nothing they tell you. If indeed you have two vga plugins, assume the SiS is 'onboard', and the ATI is an add-on card. To tell if the ATI is AGP or PCI, open your computer up and look at theslot its plugged into. PCI slots are almost always white plastic, while AGP slots are almost always brown plastic. [ January 03, 2005, 08:33 PM: Message edited by: 86smopuim ]
  12. Windows XP home SP1 see http://ponyshow.com/smope/systeminfo/SI.xml for more details as reported by 3dmark05 (note, all processes in process list are confirmed legit) Welp, I used to be able to, yes. I don't know anymore. The same can be said of CMxx too though. I can't really test them now as I tossed the CDs. (Doom 3, SW: Battlefront, money not well spent. can't even give it away for free) See below for further info the hippest latest one was direct x 9 support so I went with that. Sometimes i make it most the way through before reboot, sometimes just the first test. Since it reboots, Idon't get much meaningful info. Well except once, after reboot it says this: http://ponyshow.com/smope/systeminfo/ouch.jpg the details of which say: http://ponyshow.com/smope/systeminfo/ouch2.jpg and the technical information contains </font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">// // Watchdog Event Log File // LogType: Watchdog Created: 2005-01-03 17:51:34 TimeZone: 480 - Pacific Standard Time WindowsVersion: XP EventType: 0xEA - Thread Stuck in Device Driver // // The driver for the display device got stuck in an infinite loop. 16. Do you honestly think that that meathead comprehends anything more complicated than chipping a stone tool? It was a small wonder that he actually figured out how to insert the CD into the drive. I *could* email him the v 1.01 .exe since I still have it on my 'puter. But hearing him whine like a stuck pig is almost as satisfying as routing his troops. Aboot as easy too. </font>
  17. I went through the motions in the faq, doesn't fix, or sumfink. Directx 9c here. dxdiag doesnt report any errors. I can play ~3 turns, then the unhandled exception, BB or AK. nvidia geforce 5600 ultra XP various drivers for nvidia don't fix the problem. currently driver 6.1.7.7 please advise for next step. Can I uninstall directx somehow?
