  1. Well, I log on for my nightly visit (great for curing insomnia) and what to my wondering eyes should appear, but my mighty sponsor Sir Meeks, as usual spewing vitriol and beer. Ahhh!, my Zen is restored, all is right in the pool, and the earth has been restored in it's orbit. ...Just a thought. Some time back, I posted a challange to some insignificant insect, for insulting my sponsor. You kinigit types jumped in and insisted on setting up the map, forces, etc. WHERE THE HELL IS IT???? I have been patiently waiting, and nothing. So far I have yet to play a PBEM, and am getting tired of thrashing the computer. So screw it, how about some of you squires email me privately, and we can hide in a dark corner and play our own squirely (squirish?) games, without the notice (and interference)of the high and mighty ones. That way, we can at least have a reasonable game, not some sadistic, evil map set in the deepest depths of Mordor, armed only with pointed sticks and bunches of fruit, wielded by blind conscripts. ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  2. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Hakko Ichiu: How about jeeps vs. Kubelwagen each carrying a reinforced company of FOs without any ammo. That ought to be a challenge for them. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Sounds like fun, we can drive around the map merrily waving to each other. Or maybe set up a circuit and we can race around a dirt track to determin the winner. Is it possible to attack by ramming with a vehicle in this game?, might have to try that out. .."Driver, flank speed, secure for ramming, steady as she goes!" ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  3. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by mensch: oh I guess I should learn from you then? wedging it up others aft orifices? here's a penny now leave me alone. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> I couldn't resist hitting on a straight line like that, you were just asking for it. Just so you know, Robomouse is my son's online identity, i had to check the old posts to see if he was wandering in here. ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  4. Cool, it even changes all my old posts too! Kind of makes my posts look stupid though (don't bother hitting on that line, it's too obvious). Can you tell I was really bored tonight? ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  5. Hey, no junior, I can take the beanie cap and suspender shorts off now. Wahoo! ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  6. Hey senileguy, how did you manage to visit Winnipeg without being carried off by the mosquitos. By the way, Winnipeg is one of the worst places to go to experience Canada, the entire province is one big slough (sorry swamp to you Americans and easterners), draining into Hudson Bay. Come to Alberta, we don't have nearly as many parasitic insects (just the prov. government), the watertable is generally below ground surface, we actually see the sun in the summer, and going outside in the winter is not considered life threatening work requiring danger pay. I speak from personal experience, having lived in Gimli when it was still an airforce base, and my mother grew up there, so I spent most of my childhood summers visiting with those of my relatives unable to manage to escape the 'Peg. ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S [This message has been edited by Roborat (edited 10-20-2000).]
  7. Damn, it's still there. I notice hamsters managed to crawl out from under his rock for a few minutes, appears to have gotten into those mushrooms again, wasn't somebody supposed to be watching him. Good to see he is still alive, in body anyway. I salute you, my sponsor (inserts thumb firmly up nose and wiggles fingers) ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  8. Perhaps I will just keep posting inane messages until it goes away. That should get everyone annoyed enough to send me some pbems. Maybe (shivers with anticipatory dread)it will penetrate the layers of fog shrouding the mighty peng (-quiet you fool, he might hear you!)and rouse him enough to get honour of the mythical peng taunting. Probably require reckless use of smileys though. ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  9. How long before that stupid "junior" tag comes off, and I can take the training wheels off??? ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  10. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by *Captain Foobar*: File coming your way, Roborat. We will do a qwik battle, you as some sort of moral coward Allied type. 1000 points, meeting engagement, dry. I will withhold any insults until I gain your trust, which allows me to find out intimate details of your personal life. I don't know what happened to YK2 (bowing out and all), but you will do just as well. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Oh goody, sounds like fwun, bwing it on, Just remember, I prefer not to play those rude muricans, they talk to loud and wear my flag when travelling, thus despoiling Canuck goodwill world wide. Worst of all, they make their beer way to weak, like it's some kind of diluted, training beer, fit only for kids, until they can handle the real stuff. Grounds for insult and derision right there, I say. ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  11. I started using a modified version from Neitchze (spelling??) that got me through basic training "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". But after some abuse by the cesspool dwellers, changed it to my favorite lines from the Pirates of Penzance, It seems to fit the game, I think. ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  12. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Seanachai: I was as courteous to Rainpoet as anyone is ever going to get in this place. I hate it when they mistake the vicious, ironic tone of this place and scurry away. Ah, well, wasn't the first, won't be the last. And sometimes they go off, think about it, and come back spewing. Nice sig, who's the attribution? Patboivin! Patboivin! All, all, in are Squires! <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> What, I thought you were supposed to be edjumacated. It's the same as my required obscure literary reference in my original post to this thread, applying for membership ("tell a mauser rifle from a javelin") It's from Gilbert & Sullivan, "The Pirates of Penzance" ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  13. Hey SenileGuy, I think you lot may have scared rainpoet away. A gentle soul like that cannot handle such mean talk. As for Fatbovine, he is probably out molesting moose, or mice, depending on member size, it's what those east coasters do for entertainment. I found a new sig, what do you think?? ------------------ "With cat-like tread, Upon our prey we steal; In silence dread, Our cautious way we feel." -G&S
  14. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by mensch: .. I knew I smelled something bad when I signed up for this chicken Unit.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Thats what happens when you function with your head firmly wedged up your solids elimination orifice
  15. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by *Captain Foobar*: I am currently engaged in a PBEM with the laughingstock of the CM community, Hamsters. This heretic has had me crying, falling out of my chair laughing since turn one. His combination of French troops, gamey halftrack suicide rushes, and general lack of sense, have made this, my inaugural cesspool match completely bizarre. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> You dare to insult my sponsor, you untutored heathen, that's my job. Accordingly, I am compelled to challenge you to a duel, (pulls out a frozen frozen herring and slaps "*Captain Foobar*" across the face). Send your setup, only conditions are that I am Canadian, (or at least British, no loud mouth, poorly dressed, rude yankees for me, thank you very much), and we will commence the knees bent advancing behavior. My gopher brigade will teach you some manners, or at least provide the comedy relief. This is a limited time offer, and as I am still new to this game, it will be your only chance to brag, in your declining years, that you once defeated the immortal (or immoral, your choice) Roborat in battle. This is also open to any other of you wanna-be squires. And since I didn't get any complaints, my sig is back, at least till I find something better, so bite me if you don't like it ------------------ "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" -apologies to Neitchze
  16. Hey Hacking Icky, that grog-porn was the most demented thing I've seen, on an increasingly demented thread. I loved it, almost got caught by my boss laughing out loud. Waiting for Chapter 2: "The adventures of Fritz and Nashorn"
  17. <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by OGSF: ...His taunting is feeble but should come on with some coaching and practice. He *does* have the game, and is therefore eligible and available for a joust. He has often times thrown his troops under the blazing muzzles of my guns and may justify the faith of some Noble Knight in his worthiness by winning his joust. OberGrupenBloodyStompinFeuhrerBastard <HR></BLOCKQUOTE> You weren't referring to me I hope?? I have the game now, and I am ready to try a PBEM. If memory serves, I was the lone Canadian to come to the defence of our noble country, which was the start of this whole noxious thread. So if anyone wants to try the knees bent advancing stuff with a real Canadian (not that east coast, cod shagger of a fellow Canadian who hangs around), I hereby announce my readiness. One of you fellow squires perhaps?? And if anyone has seen my sponser, the mighty split personality himself, poke him (or her, if he is in his "sister" personality), with a pointy stick in a delicate place for me, will you? I fear the brick is losing its potency. I miss his incoherent, foaming at the mouth posts, and I suspect that his brief fling with excommunication and threatened blood hamster may have finally sent him over the edge.
  18. Hey Lorak, I visited your page, looks good, except for that music, (just kidding, only problem is that it draws unwanted attention at work, have to remember to turn down the sound when I visit). It is nice to see that I am listed as a squire. One question, however. I have yet to play a pbem, so shouldn't my record be 0/0/0???
  19. So, is this where we are playing now? I just followed my nose, like a salmon going upstream, and where the stench appeared to be the strongest, I knew I had found home again. It seems that my sponsor has gone over to the dark side (apparently, more accurately described as the demented side), so if he doesn't return to the fold I guess I will need a new sponsor, in order to retain my coveted squire status.
  20. What's going on, I get busy with work for a few days, I come back and my home is gone!! I feel so lost, like I've lost my anchor in this sea of niceness. I may be forced to wander the threads, randomly hurling taunts and insults. I tried to visit the archived file, to see what triggered the death of the thread, but all I got was an error message, so I guess I'll never know what flushed out the pool. However, this new thread is growing quit nicely, and the stench is starting to build again. I like it, I think I will pitch my tent here for a while. Silly moderators, you cannot kill the cesspool, just temporarily displace it, then it just finds another crevass to collect in. Long live the cesspool!
  21. Born in Ottawa, moved away, moved back, then moved away again (father in Air Force). Now live near Edmonton, Alberta. Don't miss the provincial sales tax, or the massive snowfalls, although it was warmer in the winter there. ------------------ "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
  22. Just a comment on deployment patterns, I don't know about WWII, but I know modern SOP is to deploy in a W shape, or staggered line, for canadian 105s and I think 155s. Also, is that info about deploying in a circle correct? That would a possibility of one gun firing over another, a major safety violation, don't you think? Also, for 105 HE, the kill radius is considered to be 30m, so adjusting at less than say 50m is pointless. ------------------ "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
