1. Uhm, does anyone happen to know a German online shop that sells these cute little beasts? This one (http://212.185.115.116/cgi-bin/modelart.storefront/3d8303d602de1640271ed4b97374068d/UserTemplate/10?lang=54) does but there's only a Sherman and some modern tanks available. 2. Nooooooooooo! That Panther G is sold out. *sob*
 3.
quote:
Originally posted by SuperTed: Actually, I am looking for something that would make sense. So, no that wouldn't work. Thanks anyway.

URL? I'll have a look at it. =)
 4. Is ammo for the famed Nahverteidigungswaffe modelled in CM? I think there was a thread about this some time ago but I was unable to find it. I'm asking this because in a recent TCP/IP game there was an immobilized Panther standing between some scattered trees that was shooting his Nahverteidigungswaffe for several turns, killing quite a few of my men before they were finally able to knock it out in a close assault.
 5.
quote:
Originally posted by Mr. Johnson-<THC>-: Actually I lied, I don't have any. But I'd like to put in the first vote for a sneak preview of a textured T-34 85. I really want to see how KwazyDog pulls of that badass turret.

Bastard! You made me jump in my chair when I read the topic!
 6. Well, I've added a "Me too!" to nearly every campaign request, so here we go: Me too!
 7.
quote:
Originally posted by Warphead-: The "Lustmolch" never had a German commander. It is a fake. It was partially "Germanized" from a postwar Swiss "Panzerjäger G13".

I know that the Hetzer displayed there is a G13. However, I think that there actually WAS a Hetzer nick named Lustmolch by its commander. AFAIR I have seen a war time picture of it some time ago.
 8. BTW: Does anybody know the name of the commander of the real "Lustmolch" Hetzer?
 9. Thx! Uhm, yes, you're right. General Forum next time. Sorry!
 10.
quote:
Originally posted by Rex_Bellator: Errrrrm, okay here goes stupid reply number 1 - If the round hit a building 5km away then the Bradley can shoot that far unless (possibly) someone picked it up, ran over to the building and threw it on the roof Hi everyone!

Hehe, okay. The details on the incident are very scarce. So it might be that the Bradley was somewhere nearer to the building, the article only states that the US base is 5 km away. If the Bradley's shots couldn't travel this far this would mean that it *had to* be somewhere nearer, right?
 11. Yesterday there was an accident on a US military base here in Germany. A Bradley fired a few rounds during an exercise. Two of these rounds hit the roof of a school building, 5 kilometers away. Luckily, no one was injured. My question: Can the Bradley shoot this far? I know that this is completely off topic and it will probably be locked up pretty soon but I'm sure one of you grogs can give me an answer. 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Head Mahone: And I say your mates are full of sh!t mate! -Head

No, he's absolutely right. A German diesel-sub fleet managed to do exactly that a few years ago - surface next to a US aircraft carrier that was their exercise target during a navy maneuver. Those sonar ops on the defense fleet really had a hard time explaining how that could have happened. BTW: During the exercise the carrier was sunk several times. Not only by the subs but also by a Tornado strike force with Kormoran missiles.
 13. Great ideas! Number 1 should indeed be relatively easy to implement and would be very helpful. Do you think of the same system that the big guns use (kill: rare)? Number 3 would also be helpful, especially when stopping a wave attack. As for number 2, this would certainly be great but I think would take a re-write of large parts of the program. Correct me if I'm mistaken.
 14. The subject "Campaigns" has surfaced many times. BTS's statement is that campaigns in the way Steel Panthers or Close Combat handled them were unrealistic and thus at the end of the list of things to implement into CM2. However there are a lot of guys like me that would love to see some sort of campaigns in upcoming parts of the Combat Mission series. If we can not have them in CM2 I hope they will be included in CM II.
 15. I wouldn't be that harsh to them. After all they're still keeping the support for PE alive in their spare time. And with the new user-made Eastern Front mod PE is twice the fun. ------------------ Rührt euch! CMPFCICM2 - Combat Mission Players for Campaigns in Combat Mission 2 - Join us! ;D
 16. BTW: The final models in the game look even better, the pictures above are very early renders.
 17. Not bad but I like these better: (Warning: Bandwith intensive) Did I mention I also love the game? ------------------ Rührt euch! CMPFCICM2 - Combat Mission Players for Campaigns in Combat Mission 2 - Join us! ;D
 18. Thanks Ryan, the Dragon models look great. I remember that the quality of Dragon's kits was very good, although I built mostly fighters and bombers when I was younger. Can't wait to see my beloved Hetzer standing on my office desk. Now if I only hat 6.000 Dollars to spare to build a 1/8 scale RC model... ------------------ Rührt euch! 19. Hi all, playing CM all the time brought me to the idea to re-awaken my long lost model building skills. To begin I thought of building my favorite German TD, the oh-so-cute Hetzer. Now I'm looking for suggestions on which model to choose. The kit should be at least 1:48 in scale, decent quality, plastic or metal tracks prefered. Also it should be possible to build different variants of the Hetzer. Some crew members included would be nice, too. Any suggestions? Does anyone know any decent model building sites on the net? Kit reviews? ------------------ Rührt euch! CMPFCICM2 - Combat Mission Players for Campaigns in Combat Mission 2 - Join us! ;D
 20. Hehe, no month without at least one "I want campaigns" posting. :-D ------------------ Rührt euch! CMPFCICM2 - Combat Mission Players for Campaigns in Combat Mission 2 - Join us! ;D
 21. When I was starting to play multiplayer matches in first person shooters like Doom and Quake I was looking for a nice nick name. Then one day I saw an American documentary movie about the P-38 Lightning and the commentary stated that one of the advantages of the Lightning was that it was easily recognized by the "often too trigger happy" gunners in the escorted bombers as a USAF plane. I thought that expression sounds very nice plus it also matches my style of play - i love Kamikaze-all-guns-blazing-attacks on my opponents.
 22. According to German laws BTS can not be held responsible for mods as long as they don't encourage people to include those forbidden symbols - which they don't do. That's an interesting question. Since the German laws state that the author of the art/game/etc. in question is the one responisble for its content Matt *could* get into trouble if he made mods that include swastikas or other Nazi symbols. In reality this *could* doesn't mean a thing, plus there is AFAIK no way in which BTS could be held responsible for Matt's works. ------------------ Rührt euch! 23. Hi BTS, Desert Fox is absolutely right. There is no problem mentioning the "Waffen SS" in a game, as long as it's not done in a "glorifying" way. There were a lot of games that featured Waffen SS units. However it is prohibited by law to show any Nazi symbols like the swastika or SS runes in a game. These symbols may only be displayed in historical photos, though you could get into trouble if you used such photos in a game manual. If you have any further questions feel free to contact me by e-mail at ruediger.steidle@pcgames.de. Although I'm not a lawyer I've been working as a games journalist in Germany for some years and might be able to help you with examples from other games. ------------------ Rührt euch!
