Did it ever occur to you that JP's actions on this board were a cry for help? (no, even he doesn't realize it, but believe me, he needs help real bad...).

Hmm, I have owned and operated motorcycles, specifically “Harley Davidson's” for 20 years. I have also held a patch with a motorcycle club. If this makes me undesirable to you for posting on this board by all means let me know.

  2. It amazes me how a fellow who obviously spends time here daily can let his stupidity get the best of him like this. Earlier today I considered posting concerning how he may not understand the International status of this BBS and was simply immature. How he must not be mature enough (not in years of age but maturity itself) to understand why he was wrong.

However after logging in a few minutes ago I realize he will not be missed by me.

  3. Hello Matt.

I enjoyed reading your posts in the two threads you mentioned. Brings back some fond memories. I agree instincts are the key developed from experience watching people.

The clubs I worked were located in southern Ca. The “Australian Beach Club” was fun (about 300 per night), the larger club where I managed the crew has since been re-located to Nevada. It was in its heyday a few years back when Country Western music was the driving force behind clubs across the country. (Due to its owners it would be uncomfortable to mention its name, you probably understand).

My fondest memories are of one customer who had a prosthesis device for a leg. Sometimes when he had too much to drink he would climb up on the taller round tables that encircled three sides of the dance floor, remove his prosthesis and wield it like a baseball bat while balancing on his real leg. He was a tough nut to crack! The funniest part was, he was such a nice guy, a couple weeks down the road we would let him back in!

The club was remolded from a closed grocery market and had the double glass entry doors. One night at closing I was locking and un-locking the front doors as we moved the final die hards out. Two of my people behind me had finally given up on removing a drunken customer with words and physically picked him up. They picked him up in such a manner (as any two men who were to pick up and throw a large oblong object) swung him backwards and tossed him out the door. The problem being I had just closed the front doors! Needless to say the poor guy hitting ¾” plate glass head first and horizontally wasn’t pretty. Sorry to say it provided one heck of a laugh at the end of a long tiring shift smile.gif

A bouncer and Computer game develepor are two different things. Bouncers are an exception in business in that they normally aren't all that polite or don't need to be(and for good reason probably).

People that sell things shouldn't compare themselves with bouncers. Bouncers try to keep people out of a business. BTS shouldn't be keeping anybody out of the symbolic club(I'm not sayint they ARE keeping people out)....

\

Sorry Infohawk, you are wrong on this point.

A bouncer’s biggest asset is the ability to be polite in the face of overwhelming rudeness and stupidity. I managed the security (bouncers) for almost 10 years for a club that would receive up to 10,000 customers on a solid Friday or Saturday. I had a crew of 12. If any of my people EVER showed signs of “not having to be nice” it was viewed as negligence and they were immediately replaced. Being a bouncer does not give anyone the legal right to put his or her hands upon anyone.

Using politeness and intelligence you move people in the direction they need to go. Try developing software or customer service in almost ANY field. Using telephone or Internet (most do, especially the computer service field). Using politeness and intelligence you move people and/or their ideas the way you need them to go.

BTS and the CM following has demonstrated the same on this BBS. One other small point I would like to add, nice of BTS to supply this forum for us.

I agree with much of the original post, except the stuff about patches.

It seems like any potentially constructive criticism about CM is met with angry, mean-spirited attacks.

This is simply not true if the posting (criticism) is done in a polite or professional manner. The original post that started this discussion was rude, demanding and incomprehensible. Check the threads carefully Infohawk, you will see the same.
