  1. If it is in the game use it are my thoughts on the matter.

If historical accuracy is the order of the day then a ToE maybe should be supplied. Any issues can be worked out before hand. Above all else have fun! If your current partner is not your idea of fun there are plenty of gamers available through this forum biggrin.gif

Couold it be that the German unit was either the 11th Panzer Division which had made it's way through the Montelimar gap to the Moselle area during the retreat of the 19th Army, or one of the two independent Panzer Brigades 106 and 112 IIRC? It could also have been the 21st, which was fighting in that area in October, according to Steidler 'Lost Batallions'.

Excuse me for being O/T but what is IIRC?

  3. Well, I remember drawing pictures of tanks, infantry and planes constantly from first grade on. In school and out of school. My father was a WWII veteran and I grew up with plastic figures (Airfix, Marx and Atlantic) and the generic green guys :). Reading history, drawing and painting history and playing at history.

The Waffen-SS seems to me to be a very touchy subject, much more so then is needed. Many people young and old alike could be better-educated and less prejudice towards this subject. Bad people do bad things; race has nothing to do with it.

In my opinion all that is needed is your guidance and your patience in delivering that guidance day after day, through the years. A young mind is a wonderful responsibility. The education you provide at home is what will be lived by your son.

    Respectfully..

  4. I have played both, RTS and turn based. I have always enjoyed the thought process that comes with the turned-based games more. RTS was fun in it’s day but suffers from burn out quickly.

The WEGO system is an excellent approach. I enjoy it tremendously. As far as tension goes, heck, it starts in the set-up phase of all PBEM games. Then continues on everytime I ease a piece of armor from cover to get a shot. Or rush a squad or platoon from cover to cover. CM is full of tension.

“Like yourself, but with a different game (M1TP2), I felt tension to be lacking. So I tried this simple remedy to help ramp up the immersion, you may want to give it a go.

Buy yourself a tin bucket and place it over your head after cutting a slit in it at eye level, this simulates a vision port on a tank you see. You will now need to enlist the help of your wife/girlfriend/mother. Her role, once you start playing CM, is to creep up behind you with a piece of stout timber and give your head (protected by the bucket) an almighty whack with the piece of wood, she should do this at random intervals whilst trying to keep in step with what she sees on the screen . This will simulate enemy AP shells bouncing off. If she's really keen the severity of the blow can be varied thus accurately simulating different calibre of shells.

Give it a go, it really improved my gaming experience and I'm sure you'll find the games tension increased. “

Ok, ok fellas. We have all consumed enough alcohol to give this a go. I just happened to bring along a dozen or so buckets made in the good ‘ole US of A and hmm, let’s see 3 buckets made in Germany. Yea that should be just about right. Take your buckets, now guys with the German buckets over there. USA buckets stay here. Everyone set? Got your sticks? Ok, down your beers…GO GO GO!!!

  6. Holy Hampsters Stuka, nice shot! Hmm, I think Teutonicc may be shaken up a bit now. That was quite a roll and to end it with a bump on the noggin from that bottle.

Where do you think he is going now? Hey Teutonicc the flag is up here! Uh-oh, I think he may be a bit upset Stuka. What’s that he is getting out of the jeep. Anyone have any field glasses?….
