All shale now bow to Madmatt the god of CM mods! Hale madmatt.

well lets see....
Das Boot- Just the best WW2 movie ever made
U-571- Not realistic but I liked it, Lots of action!
Saving private ryan-Duh a no brainer here
My vote for the worst war movie ever made would have to go to The Thin Red Line, Whenever I cant seem to fall asleep I watch about half and hour of that film and it gives me the best nights sleep I would have in years.

Ok let me clear something up when i said that Japan didnt want to get involved in the war.
What I ment was that the head japaness adirmal (I forgot his name) warned the leaders of japan that Quote" I believe that all we have done is awoken a dragon and that he is now bent on revenge"
P.S. I probally should have made this clearer earlier.

Phil were you thinking about mixing your coward polish troops with top rated americans?
tsk tsk tsk that is a big no no now start planning your next move because as of right now you have no armor left.
-
I dont see much here to argue about. neither Germany or Japan really wanted a war with the United States even in the first world war germany didnt want the US to get involved.
Why?, Because the United States at that time was the worlds largest industrial power. We had some of the best generals while Hitler mostly ignored his, Plus germany knew that for every fighter plane they put in the sky the Americans could put up 5, for every tank germany produced we made about 6. These figures are just my guesses though.

About the question some of you had on would we use an atomic bomb on germany if we had the chance? Well if D-day had in fact somehow failed the germans would then be able to send their best panzer divisions to the russian front to halt the soviet advance.
The allies would be left with no choice but to continue their offensive in Italy.
Once the atomic bomb was developed the allies would wast no time in dropping it on Berlin and other german cities.
I also think the allies were eager to test the nuclear bomb because they wanted to show the Soviet Union that they were capable of destroying them if stalin desided to take over the rest of Europe.
This is just my opinion of course.

Ok lets say for a second that we play a PBEM game that is absolutly accurate in allied suppuriority. Lets say the year is 1945 we play as the germans. Under your command is one platoon of conscripted Volkstrom,1 75mm antitank gun, and two panzerVI's.
After the Allies pound your position with P-51 mustangs and 105mm arty you go up against an allied force consisting of on platoon of veteran infantry, 5 sherman 76s, and 2 sherman jumbos. Plus air and arty support and lots of reinforcements.
Now you tell me is this not a one sided game?

Well I had been looking for a good wargame and while I was reading the reveiw of CM in Computer Gameing World I thought I would go to the website and download the demo.
I loved the demo and the next day bought the game with my hard earned allowance of mowing lawns and cleaning up dog s..t

I am not sure if this has been done or not but I think it would be intresting to see the 88mm tested on several versions of vehicals (spelling?) and light tanks at about 1000m.
Because if an 88mm or even a 75mm for that matter hit near the tracks of a certain vehical it would as we all know disable it or cause the crew to panic.
I also believe expeirience plays a crucial factor on the accuratcy of the 88mm. I would like to see test done on green units and elite units to measure out the accuratcy diffrences.
P.S. I know my spelling is bad so please dont comment.

Just downloaded the demo and tried it out today. My opinion is that so far it is much improved over CC4, The force Pool is back and so is the stratigic map. So far the game looks pretty good. (CM is still my favorite wargame though )

This is the experimental demolition tank t-31.
The two outer tubes are 7.2" rocket launchers in a 5-shot revolver style launcher (carried 30 rockets), the center gun is a dummy gun, and it has two .30 cal mgs. It was fitted to take a dozer blade and a hull-mounted 50-gallon flamethrower as well, and it had a .50 cal mg atop the rear turrent roof....
I'm still trying to figure out where one would sit to fire the .50 cal ?

Am I the only one here who plays CM and sometimes plays a quick game of CC4? CC4 was actually the first wargame I ever bought and CM is the first wargame that I got addicted to.

The panther has beauty and power.

Im pretty sure that most houses will blow up if you fire two 105mm rounds at it.
And that does not make a house very safe to 12 squad either.

Tiger,Is there anything you cant do?

I saw this series way back a couple months ago. It is very good and puts a whole new perspective on WW2.

Well, I'm playing a PBEM with the great Paderborn Scenario.
We both played it double blind not knowing what the map was about or what kind of stuff we had on it.
Take a look at the following picture. There's about 20 seconds left in the turn. I hear a tank rumbling from my right, so I figure I'll send two jacksons, and two shermans to go put the SMACK down on what ever rolls out from the brush....
You fill in the rest....
