don't get it
Lars replied to walpurgis nacht's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Oh, so it's my fault you're easily bored. Go try Timskorn AI mod for a challenge. Or send a setup. -
Look, I know all that already. I was one of the people arguing for a Med convoy route pre-release just for the British submarines.. I meant neutralized in the military sense. As in "no longer such a bother we have to invade the joint". What annoys me is the UK gets to damage Axis supply for no cost. Look at their losses for once. You don't load supplies on a submarine for Malta because it's such a great freighter.

Seanachai, you knob, why'd you challenge Peng?

Er, it's only $45. Yeah, if you got bored with SC1 in a month, you'll get bored with this. It is the same game, only much improved. What did you expect, really? It is called SC2… -
In point of fact, Rommel got his supplies whenever the higher ups decided it was worth the effort. Malta was pretty much neutralized and it wasn't the force you all seem to think it was. The problem with the "Malta Effect" is it's automatic. The UK gets a freebie with no effort required, the UK losses trying to secure their own line of supplies and attempting to disrupt the enemies were quite severe. They were pretty much driven out of the Med, remember? For all the trouble Rommel had getting his supplies, the Brits had even more. Their supply line was 13,000 miles long. See here. Mostly Air Force stuff, but it does point out some of the issues.

Lars vs Stalin AAR - v 1.01
Lars replied to Lars's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
I've still got one lonely sub prowling the Atlantic. But I did reclaim that chit in Advanced Subs. Denmark falls. A day late and a dollar short. In the Med, French and UK fleets come to shell everything in port and take out a Italian cruiser. On the riposte, a UK Battleship becomes a nice dive site off Taranto. In France, a Panzer gets wacked by pretty much everything the Froggies have. But in revenge, one Army goes down. And…the Axis catches the RAF on the ground in France! Say bye-bye flyboys. Not very often you pray for mud, but if Stalin gets it, I'm going to get his little Bomber too… -

I think it's 2.1, but I'll have to check when I get home. Downloaded it Saturday morning. -

Ok, played this all day on Saturday. Got up to summer of 43. The Heavy Tank 1 entrenched in Paris was a bit of a surprise in the beginning. Made that particular siege a pain. USSR is much, much tougher. I'm running in to Infantry Weapons 3 Armies and Corps left and right. Even with Axis IW3 and Heavy Tank 3 I'm sorta bogged down after taking Moscow. Think I've rebuilt just about every infantry unit. Twice. US has done the Africa bit, moving on to Tunisia instead of just sitting there, so you got that right. No D-day or Husky yet, but I'm sure it's coming. -

Eh, the second one down is obviously just a wwii re-enactor. -

Gee, that must have worked well for us. Think you got that reversed. We had so many pilots we cut back on training more towards the end. -

Now why do I have 27 turns a year stuck in my head? I know I've seen it somewhere. Well, can't dispute your math I guess. But what about access to Norway and the North Sea? -

Air fleets & ships too powerful
Lars replied to dicedtomato's topic in Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare
Well, AF was toned down from SC1. Guess them buggers are still to powerful, eh? Although, for the amount of resources you've got tied up in them, and the fact that they only work half the year... -

Er, the Bombers do that pretty well already. Just keep Paris down and the Axis can't op move anything in to meet an invasion force. -
