What's better than scoring a free case of wine for the weekend?
I'll let you know when I finish drinking the last Cab.
-
Hey, if they had been brave enough to burn a Saddam effigy 10 years ago, we never would have had to go there.
Nice to see a free people having fun though.
-
Are BMWs and Mercedes the only pure German cars? Do they also have global connections in production?
BMW's are made in South Carolina.
And don't buy the hype on job loses. The numbers are coming from the exact same people who can't run a car company.

They don't drive those because they like them, they drive them because they ain't got any money.

Ah, how nice. A WSJ editorial on the very subject today.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122722835387246299.html
Doesn't look like they're in the tank for management to me.

Should make it very easy for Emrys to buy it all up and vote them out then, eh?
Sure, the execs get their share of the blame too. They gave in to the union contracts, dealer contracts, pension plans, private jets, etc. And it does look like soon they'll be out on the street.
But before going off on exec pay, a good question to ask is, if you find a guy who can fix GM, what would you be willing to pay him?
-
It's just that it seems like those like yourself are all too quick to lay the blame exactly there and overlook most everything else, especially executive compensation and perks. Those you seem very happy with.
Michael
Wouldn't say happy. Would say more "Don't Care".
You don't like executive pay, buy a bunch of stock and vote it down. In fact, this is probably what the unions should have done with their gains.
Me, I don't own any stock. Don't have a dog in the fight.
-
All of which were agreed to by the corporation and tolerated by general US society for decades' date=' along with the products the whole system supported - to blame the unions alone is bollocks.[/quote']
Well, not quite. Seems a lot of people bought foreign cars instead.
But yeah, the problem is bigger than just the unions, but they still deserve a share of the blame.

Its hard to win a war with one testicle. But maybe if he had both he would never bother starting WW2 anyway.
On the other hand, if the Allies hadn't blown off the first one, maybe he wouldn't have held a grudge.

Hey, we could work a ticket swap! It's the least I could do for you!
And never let it be said I didn't do the least I could for you.
-
Yeah, like I'm sure you'd be unwilling to trade my 3 weeks in summer sunshine for your 3 weeks up to your arse piece in snow?
And miss ice fishing season?
Some good drinkin' goes on during ice fishing season. You'd love it.
-
And to think....only 2 more weeks until my vacation.
Yep, 10 days in beautiful Thailand, a week in New Zealand and 2 more weeks back in OZ.
Life is tough.
Sounded good, till you got to those last three weeks.

Since I'm fairly well up to speed on the process of cooking eggs and pigs I thought I'd inquire as to the methodology he used in cooking stout.
Look, we both know there's no chance in hell he was using the stout as a marinade for the pig, as he would have drank it as soon as the bottle cap flew off, and then cracked another while waiting on the toast for the eggs, so your statement can only refer to the initial cooking of the wort.
So nnnaaaahhh
-
By the by, how exactly does one cook stout?
Whoah, whoah, whoah....just a minute there, pardner...
You really mean to tell us you don't know how to make beer?
Somebody get a rope.
-
I might pay money to see that, provided it was executed with sufficient skill and energy.
Since it's Boo, doesn't look like you'll be going broke anytime soon.

Must be tuesday.
Tis Armistice Day.
Buy a vet a drink down at the VFW.

If only the deer could shoot back.
That's what I say!
At least then, I'd know where the little bastages are hiding.
-
What a fun deer opener.
Hang the tree stand in the pouring rain on Friday. Get hunting clothes all wet.
Go sit in stand on Saturday in a 30 knot north wind with driving snow. Stand is facing that way, of course. Snow in the face all day long and get moderately seasick due to tree swaying.
Sunday was better. It was just plain cold, with lighter wind and snow.
Not a total loss though, I almost got a deer on the drive home with the truck.

Off to kill Bambi's mom.
Bwahahahaha....
-
Too funny.
Well, what did she want for free, anyway?
-
Well, soon the Bush cabal will be gone and there will no one to blame and kick around except the Democrats and Obama. I expect the Republicans and conservatives will get plenty of practice criticizing and undercutting the new administration over the next 4 years. It remains to be seen if this "change we can believe in" can overcome the reluctance of the other side to taking part in any change at all.
Always nice to see somebody being magnanimous in victory.

bugger Bachmann is back
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michele_Bachmann
what is it about Alaska?
Er, Minnesota.
And she had the saving grace of not being the other guy, who was a crook.

As opposed to Stuka ...... Mace,(pictured above), bears a striking resemblance to a different but equally famous Australian creature.
How fitting that the most famous Australian critter is from somewhere else.

Yep! And he is going to make his acceptance speech soon in Chicago.
Looked like quite the party. Did you go?
