  1. Goto Combat Mission HQ and visit the MOD section and look for Pritzl's MOD pack which has the M26 Pershing and M24 Chaffee and pretty much all the allied vehicles winterized. The only thing that isn't winterized is the crocodile trailer. I don't mind because don't know how historical it is to winterize a trailer and i don't think a tank crew would waste their time winterizing a trailer.

  2. Any one know the (maximum) Turret traverse rate and method for the Tiger? I'm not sure but i think i saw it in a book somewhere that is was nine degrees/ second. What is the average loading time for the main gun? I'm not sure how fast the crew could load the main gun because of the way the ready ammunition was setup and the design of the cradles.

i would think the Sherman M4 has the Tiger beat in turret traverse speed and loading of the main gun.

  3. I'm talking about the Macintosh version of the Voodoo5, the raver driver has some bugs that need to fixed before even playing CM. I don't use my Voodoo5 for CM because its to buggy. The smoke doesn't look right in CM, you can't switch back to desktop and then back to CM because it screws up CM. When 3DFX released Voodoo5 PCI for Macintosh it was buggy and its had a number of patches. I only have problems with Rave but if your looking at just playing OpenGL, Glide games then Voodoo5 is just what you need. I was thinking if i ever had to do it again i'd buy a Radeon because i don't think the Voodoo5 was worth almost five hundred dollars for a buggy product.

  4. The reply to my question needs a little work..... I was just asking if CM models gun elevation speeds for diffrent vehicles and i never did say it was a bug.

I've had vehicles with and without turrets have problems targeting a enemy unit effectively because they were positioned on a slope or at a weird angle and couldn't elevate their main gun and fired into the dirt or fired above the target because the gun couldn't be postioned. I think that its very historic because if you have a StuG IIIG positioned on a steep hill it will have problems targeting a enemy unit effectively and will probably fire into the ground " into the dirt " or fire above the target.

The main gun on armored vehicles can only elevate or lower so much before it has to reposition its self to engage targets and i like how CM models gun elevation.

  5. I've noticed in a few QB battles I've played that when you have a StuG IIIG on the crest of a hill or firing up a hill that sometimes its gun can elevate only so much and then it just fires into the dirt and I've had that happen on a lot of vehicles which don't have a turret and limited traverse and elevation for the main gun.

I know CM has diffrent rotation speeds for turrets on allied and axis armored vehicles but does it model elevation speeds on main guns?

  6. I purcahsed a couple SPW 250/9 halftracks in my last PBEM game and I've been very impressed the SPW 250/9s performance when engaging enemy halftracks and infantry. I know the SPW 250/9 halftrack has a low amount of 20mm ammo and just a coaxial MG but the 20mm has a high rate of fire which does a excellent job of knocking out enemy vehicles and suppressing infantry. I also think camouflage pattern on the SPW 250/9 is excellent and very historic.

  7. I'm really looking forward to BTS finishingTCP/IP and starting on CM2.

I'll finally be able to challenge a Panther or Tiger on equal terms with a T34/85. The T34/85 has a 85mm gun with a Max speed of 55Km/h and some tough armor and there is some very good variants, like a flamethrower, self-propelled gun so really looking forward to CM2 and the T34 variants and can't wait to kill some German armor.

  8. I've been very pleased with CM and the timely release of updates.

I was really happy about how they shipped CM when it was released because i had my mail forwarded to Keesler AFB for some time and i recieved it the same week it was released and it was a tough three weeks until i got home. I can say i studied the manual while i was TDY. I just wanted to say thanks to Big Time Software.

  9. Your not supposed to know where the perfect hull down position is located. You have to use view 1 and good judgement where to locate your armor so they will have good cover and if you slowly creep up a hill in hunt mode the armored vehicle will stop as soon as it spots the enemy armor and should be in a hull down position from the front.

Why have the computer tell you where to locate your armor in a hull down position?
