C'mon guys, ain't any of you been around long enough to remember when the old CMBO mods craze got started? Why you young whippersnapper, I was playing CM during the Spanish-American war. I remember all them beautiful mods, and yes where the devil is Fernando? You da one doing scratch-builts and such, ifso facto, you da man.

Just saw this. Okay, I'll take a look. Thanks for the mods.

I had an opponent who's T-34 had a back and forth thing happening as it advanced towards some of my troops in a woods. It was kinda funny, well for me anyhow as it turned out on account of I had a 50mm AT gun trained on it as it was going back and forth. I don't speak German so I'm not sure what the lil gunners were saying, but I figure it was somefink like, Hold her still there Ivan till I get a bead on ya. Which, they eventually did. But yes I've seen some strange behavior on that note. But, I'd have to add the same sort of thing went on in CMBO even more often than it does with CMBB. So I figure we're better off now than we were.

This is weird. Somehow this thread got cross-posted. It was originally about MickeyD's redrawn guns, when I opened it up to look, it was about someone discussion scenario options, so I edited the post, and looked again and my original post on the guns reappeared but someone had posted a response to the original thread which my edited post erased. How can that happen?

Wow, didn't even see nuffin announced about this. The other day, MickeyD released a scratched built Valentine. Almost fell outta the chair. Now, with little fanfare the cotton picker has posted a redrawn 76.2mm and 57mm gun. He's a mod animal I tell ya. He even slicked up the Rusky tire treads. Well maybe I missed the ribbon cuttin ceremony, but these are really nice models.

Ah, don't wanna hijack the thread, but was reading above. How does one type that Rusky stuff? I have some Russian I need to interpret off of a map. I guess a better question is what is a good method of interpreting Russian from a document/map index?

Say, er ah, Tanks. You gonna do the scattered tree bases too ain't cha?

Hot Doggies!
By golly, ya call the White House and ya get the pretzel.
Thanks Tanks, you da man!

Well I took a look for a cool Soviet phrase that describes "General Winter", and this is what I found:
Combined Arms Research Library
Oddly enough, I've found one reference that states the term General Winter, was coined by Napoleon during his Russian invasion, and another reference that states the term is of old Nordic mythology. Unfortunately I found nothing in terms of Russian slang that offers a cool title however.

I din mean nuffin bout tri-colors, arnest!
Hey, ya'll take a look in the ssarmor zip at that Mercedes Benz 230 of Das Reich and ponder doing wet/dry dust like it shows on the rear quarter panel for some wheeled vehicles. That would be kickin...
Dag, wish we had a Merc230 in the game.

Well MickeyD, it's like making sausage. I'd much rather savor the sweet taste than to visualize what actual parts of the lil porker went into it. Great job though. This might propel mod making into a whole new realm.

Here here!

I'm stunned. Absolutely marvelous. With all these cool mods coming out, geeze it's like Christmas morning groundhog day.

Dust. Someone say dust. Then too, there's always someone like me around to point out that the Germans didn't always have sufficient supplies to spruce up those vehicles the way they might have otherwise. Now let's take a look see how good ole dirt and mud was used in lieu of paint for camouflage.
From "Panzer Colors", Camouflage of the German Panzer Forces 1939-45, by Bruce Culver and Bill Murphy, Squadron Signal Publications, 1976.
From "SS Armor" A Pictorial History of the Armored Formations of the Waffen-SS, by Robert C. Stern, Squadron Signal Publications, 1978
From "Panzer Colors", Camouflage of the German Panzer Forces 1939-45, by Bruce Culver and Bill Murphy, Squadron Signal Publications, 1976.
Note how the dirt and mud is either purposely applied or at least encouraged in order to better blend in with the environment.

Another triumph. Splendid. Really nice stuff Tracer.

I wish for world domination.

No problem guys, the whole idea is to help the modders, who help the rest of us to have an even more enjoyable game. The stock graphics done for the game are fine and look good, but the mods that have been done are outstanding, many times incredibly realistic. Glad to be of service.
Tracer, if you want the full packet sent to you, just email me.

Well count the wheels or not, the camo scheme is beautiful.

Don't know. The three that I have were made before most of those on the forum were vitamin tablets. Not sure, but I believe there were more published in the series at a later date.
