Thanks Vin, that's a big improvement. Kevin;

Folks; Has anyone created a mod to maybe put a base under infantry units? I find the floating icons to be pretty hard to use. I search around but did not see anything, but i may not be looking in the correct place. Thanks. Steel

Found it, thanks. Really enjoying this game, just like old times. Steel

Another newbie question, is there a way to see how many casualties a given unit inflicted at the end of a game? That was one of my favorite features of CM, I'm a blood thirsty commander Steel

Wow, Long time CM1 player coming back to the fold. I am very happy to see that the game has implements the WEGO system again, Im sold!! So, I started with the CMBN, a few quick questions. Are there detailed stats on units in the game? In CM, If i recall you could see things like gun type and i think armor thickness in the buy screen. Second question, is there a way to specify the points used in quick battles? seems the game has pre canned points for size it looks like. Loving it by the way guys, looking forward to moving though to the newest one. Where is my Peng thread!! Steel

Worst friendly fire incidents in CMBB

See Sig Funniest thing I ever saw. My brother was not amused Kevin; -
Only thing I want to see, and it is minor at that, is the infantry rarity rating on the purchase screen. Other than that, I am very satisfied Kevin;

Howdy folks. I asked this question before but it seems to have bumped way off the list and I can not find it now Through testing, it appears that rarity affects infantry but there is no display for how how much on the buy screen. Is this a bug or is it supposed to be this way? Not a major problem, but it would be nice to see where the deals are. Take care. Kevin;

Does rarity affect infantry? If so, should I be seeing rarity factors on the purchase screen? Thanks. Kevin;

Hmmm, I have not found any guns that are fast as a morter. All of them rate at very slow. What year does this beast arrive? Kevin; -
Anyone know if there are any download mirrors for the patch? Can't seem to squeeze in on the battlefront site Kevin;

Newbie question - how do you call in artillery?
Steel Rain replied to warspite's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Use the 'target' command, or 't' key. You can also use 'target wide' or 'w' key. Take care. Kevin; -

Quick battle-more than 1000 pts
Steel Rain replied to dor's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Yep, I believe the max points allowed by a QB is 5000 pts. The way to give one side more points is the use the handicap system. For your example, select a 1000 pt battle, then give one side a 100% advantage. You can also start with 2000 pts and give one side a 100% disadvantage. Hope that helps. Kevin; -
Next Combat Mission game
Steel Rain replied to Kaiser Soze 71's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Well, since we are just speculating, I will weigh in. If I was BTS, I would go with the whole enchilada, cover from say 1937 to 1949 or so to allow for some interesting what if's. I also hope they allow non historic conflicts such as american vs soviet, say around 1942 Just my wish list. Kevin; -
Prep Barrage vs later barrage
Steel Rain replied to Remydog's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
My opinion is that that russian arty is essentially worthless. I have found pre planned barrages against a human to be so chancy that the cost of the arty is never made up in the long haul. There is always the possibility that you might get lucky, but like in a casino, in the long game, you will come out behind. The only exception to this rule is the russian 82mm morter, they come in with about 3 min, so they have some use on the tactical battlefield. I have played about a 20 games against humans so far, and I have never seen the russain player ever buy arty (about 10 examples). There may be a way to deploy arty that makes sense, but I have yet to see it. My advise to people playing the russian side, skip the arty and use on map HE. Just my 2 cents. Kevin; -
Feature Request
Steel Rain replied to imported_Steel_Rain's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
That is kinda what I figure as well. One thing that did occur to me though would be to build a game launcher with the options and chat there. You could then pass the actual game the paramers for setup. I am guess though that this might be hard but I though I would ask. Perhaps in the rewrite. Kevin; -
Feature Request
Steel Rain replied to imported_Steel_Rain's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Hi redwolf, long time I guess my issue is more centered around making mistakes and pissing someone off. Most network games have a chat lobby on the main screen where everyone can see what is set. Now, from my point of view, this is probably a non trivial thing to do at this point. But it might not be. I can deal with the situation as it is now, but it just a bit of a headache and I find myself saying "setup what ever you want, and I will play it". Right redwolf Cheers.... Kevin; -

Well, I am waiting to see how long it will take them to ban me. I found nothing in Slapdragdons post worthy of being banned. I objected to that and lets see what happens
