Ethan, The Golani Brigade are just part of the regular infantry fighting units. The three fighting units are the Golani, Givati and Tzanchanim (paratroopers). The Golani is based in the north, Givati south and Tzanchanim in the centre section of Israel. The Tzaeret Matkal are pretty good. But the most elite unit is the shyaetet 13. They are the equivalent of the Navy seals, the only difference is that they **** all over the seals. Basic training for this unit is 2 years!!!! and you must committ to the army for at least 5 years. As opposed to regular service of 3 years. One of the main problems with the IDF in general is the lack of discipline, this is one of its weaknesses besides the fact that it is run by a communist governement who supports the enemy more than their own people!!! Yes Disaster I am one of those 'fundamental Jews" who believes that Israel belongs to Jews. If you have ever read the Bible you will see that G-d promised to give the Land of Israel SOLEY to the Jews and those willing to expect this fact. Surrendering land for nothing to terrorists is NOT on. Hey, What do you think the SS units were established for? For bloody cold blooded murder. I am also from Australia. Do you know why I was born here? Because my family was "eliminated" by the SS and my surviving grandparents after surviving concentration camp wanted to escape the destruction of Europe. If you are wondering yes I am Jewish and proud. I take great offence to praises of the SS. Most of them (99%) were all cold blooded sick murderers. For saying you want to recreate the massacre, mate you are sick in the head. You are continuing in the murderous brutal ways of your grandfather's SS!!! Guys, I just want your expert advice. I'm looking at buying a new computer but I'm real tight on budget. My primary useage of computer is for war games like CM, Commandos2, CC4 etc etc... Does it make that much of a difference getting a Celeron 566Mhz as opposed to PIII? ------------------ lead by example!!

Man I used to religiously goto their forum every day until I found a post about CM over there, well I havn't been back there since nor do i intend to go there again!!!

Sudden Strike forum. I read a post by 'Patton' who had just bought this game he said it was good. But he also said he wanted to finsh CM in time for the release of Sudden Strike so he could focus on SS????? I now think he's mad. I also havn't been back to that forum since dicovering this game!!!

I can't believe you guys don't think that Hidden & Dangerous wasn't fantastic!! I know it had some bugs, but gees I loved it and thought it was very realistic!!

Does anyone know how this fits in, do we pay or not? You know I was just thinking I normally buy my games from the local shop for about A$75, This one's costing me A$95-100 plus GST? Now that's expensive!!! I think these people at BTS have other motives for now selling to shops - they wanna make more $$!! ------------------ lead by example!!

Steve et al... I don't understand, why couldn't something like the Close Combat system or Sudden Strike be incorporated in CM. Personally I am a big fan of CC (and thought until CM) that it was the best war game out there!!

I guess after playing VOT I take back my statement about infantry being invulnerable. Also I just realised that a squad of 3 is really 10-12 men not 3 as represented and that's where I may have erred making my previous judgment.

I must say it does look kind of dodgy having a squad of 10-12 men represented by 3 soldiers, it kind of feels a bit incomplete. Maybe this is something to attend to for future releases. Its just hard to adjust because most other games that I've played don't have this concept. The infantry graphics also remind me of 101st in Normandy anyone play that one? What a boring waste of time game. ------------------ lead by example!!

Fellas, I've just spent some time playing the demo and I must say, I am most impressed!!! Fantastic graphics, sound, execution. I do have extensive WW2 wargaming experience Steel Panthers, Close Combat 2,3, Sudden Strike(demo), Hidden & Dangerous, 101 Airborne in Normandy etc etc It reminds me of CC2 but just 3D. I can honestly say that I agree with Scottld's Review. However I must comment that despite all the talk going on about machine gun effectivness, which I have read. I must say that I think overall Infantry units are too invulnarble. While playing the demo I had 2 Shermans, 50 cal, M1919, 60 motar and about 3-4 infantry squads pouring fire onto about 6 German Infantry units who were positioned in the woods and casulties were far and few between. To me this is something of concern!!!! Especially as they <100m away!!
