  1. Cav, thats simple not correct. Poland and Denmark, yes you made your point and of course the german side was supiror as it was for greece, yougaslavia and the CSFR but Belgium, they were fighting together with the Neterlands, France and Britain, although not with a closed front. And to close this discussion once and for all it is nonsense to argue if it was 3to1 or 4to1 or "only" 2to1. USA+Russia+Britain makes for about 500 million, Germany+Japan makes for abaout 200 million, thats not counting the other staates involved. And please don't come up with the Italians, because after 1943 it wasn't worht it. So can we accept the fact that the allies won the war and would have won no matter what Germany or Japan would have done but they won simple because the axis couldn't stand a chance even at "only" 2to1. For the other thing, I thought I made it clear, that I have the same respect for every Allied soldier as I have it for a german or japanese. If I failed, well I do it know. Lets leve it at that shall we and play some CM. ------------------ Thomas
  2. I quite don't understand this whole discussion. I was not able to check the chat for three days and what is on top, this discussion. I'm german, so I play the german side. It's as simple as that. I'm proud of my current country, our achievments AFTER the world war. With the help of the United States we made it to be the 3rd biggest Industry Nation after the USA and Japan. Our Democracy is one of the stablest in the world and we are a part of the European Union. The things my anceisters did in World War II would be something to be proud of, wouldn't it be for the six million jews that were killed and the little reason we started the war which caused millions and millions of lives. This is nothing to be proud of. The fact that german soldiers were fighting even when it was obvious the war was lost is indeed remarkable and it shows that the german soldier was able to hold out under enormus presure. But the pure souls that lost their lives because of the Idiot Hitler would probably say, to the hell with it. But something still gets on my nerves, anyone who denies, that germany had lost the war against incredibly overwelming odes, well if you won't to see it that way it's your choice, but don't cheat on history because it won't work. By the way, I wan't to express my sympathies to all CM players in the USA. You have a great country and wouldn't it be for you, Germany wouldn't be were it is today. I wish all of you a great time playing CM. ------------------ Thomas
  3. Trust me, they are crying "Hilfe, Hilfe", what means "Help me, Help me", no word of Hitler. So I thing there is no need for a new replacement. By the way, if you want a german to say "Oh ****" it is "Oh Scheiße" or simple "Scheiße, bin getroffen" what means "****, I'am hit". ------------------ Thomas
  4. Most of the time the germans. First reason, I'am from germany and its a little odd to fight against your own country (so I understand every american or canadian who think likewise and play the allies), second reason, I like to replay historical battles like KG Peiper (wonderfull scenario I downloaded for KG Peiper fighting their way out at Stoumont) in the battle of the bulge and win for the underdog. ------------------ Thomas
  5. David, great reply. I have to agree. Brussel will have us all. Its like the borg, if you know them from Star Trek. "Resistance is futile, we will add you in to our collecitve to service us". Just kidding, personaly I think of me as an german european and I hope one day we will have a great big happy "United States of Europe". ------------------ Thomas
  6. I think it was invented in germany by Mr. Daimler in the late 19th century but I could be wrong. The Japanese drive on the left side? Well, I guess the problem is bigger than I thought. ------------------ Thomas
  7. Just courios, wasn't the meter/feet problem of the US responsible for the crash landing of the last NASA-Mars-mission? Lets make life easier for all of us on the planet, Americans, please acept the metric system and please to all british, australian and all other ex-british commonwealth, put your car on the right side of the street like the rest of the world. Thank you. ------------------ Thomas
  8. Of course the germans. I would love to kick some russian ass. ------------------ Thomas
  9. Hallo Franko, I would very much apreciate if you could send the scenario to me. email: ThomasSchoepplein@t-online.de. Thank you. ------------------ Thomas
  10. Axis. The main reason, I'am from germany. Second reason, most time outmaned, outsupplied and (only in numbers) outgunned. I played the allies once, US-Airborne, and I noticed after two rounds, I was indeed going to loose, not because of the ai, because I wanted to loose. As mentioned before, I think I'am ready for a lesson with "Freud". ------------------ Thomas
  11. Bamberg, Germany, only 200 km north of the Octoberfest in Munich. Can't wait till the beer flows. ------------------ Thomas
  12. Basicly, the Operations are great. But what I miss is a campaign, maybe a few operations put together were you can take your forces from one operation to the next. Obviously KG Peiper Dez 1944 would be a good choice for such an aproach or as someone else suggested the battle for Hill 112 near Caen. Oh by the way, sorry for my english, as a german I have enough trouble with my one language. And Bill, keep up your excellent work. ------------------ Thomas
  13. Thank you for the advise. But I already have selled it to a guy in the UK. I could have sold it to 24 different people, to any price. Of course I don't want't to make profit out of it, so I selled it for the price I payed. But thanks again for the advice. ------------------ Thomas
------------------ Thomas
  15. Hello fellows, I wasn't sure if I ordered a copy back in 1999 so I ordered again in May 2000. And what can I say, today the mailman delivered actually two copies of CM. So I ask if anyone living in Germany too, has some use for a second copy, still in original package of course. Pleas e mail me if you live in Germany and want my second copy(ThomasSchoepplein@t-online.de). And by the way, the game is simply the best PC game I ever played. To anyone who have it, enjoy. ------------------ Thomas
