1. During a trial of the "Grosshau Ridge", my CAS did some handy jobs onto my troops constration:

It had effectively wiped out over 60% of my troops! I stare at my notebook and made a freaking smile.

    2. I did read somewhere that the second round of CM CDs came straight from Battlefront with v.1.02 pre-installed (this is referred to as slipstreaming a patch).

I made a speical arrangement with Steve and my copyied is shipped June 29 and arrive in July 7. AFAICT, the new batch is still 1.00.

  3. Just finished reading the manual. I have a couple of questions.

    1. I read from Panzer Elite manual that blotted armor creates speical problem that deflects shots in a wired manner. Is it modelled in CM?

    2. I think this has been asked before. Is field armor add-on (such as spare tracks) taken int account in CM?

    3. I read the section of "shot trap" several times but I am still not sure why it deflets a shot into the turret ring.

    Thanks in adv.

  4. I am not sure if I have the same level of you people out there but I am sure I have quite a small collection of WW2 books. Since one legal games cost almost the same as one thin Ospey books, I am sure I have already spent more money on books than on games.

Most of them are from Amazon.com, since Hong Kong does not have a bookstore which fulfill me needs.

I have not counted how many books on WW2 I actually have but I am constructing a catalogue in my Palm Pilot so that I would not purchse the book I have already bought.

BTW, my late dad always asked me how could I read all the books, I would tell him "by the end of next month".

  5. This is in my mailbox yesterday but read it today:

quote:
This seems to be "the week of Combat Mission." Most every comment on the Big Time Software/Battlefront.com tactical WWII game has been positive (our review is in and should

be up next week or so). Me, I think it's pretty grand. Haven't been able to play much--too much other stuff going on. But from what time I have been able to spend with the title, I like it.

  6. Hum, just finished Vamprire, pretty nice, waiting for Deus Ex, and will give Diablo 2 and Icewind Dale a pass. B17FF2 looks cool but I am keeping my EAW, so is my Flanker and Flanker2. Still don't have the hd space to install Shogun.

After this forum, I think my next big game will be CM Gold Demo 1.02, or head back to the WW2 history books...

  7. My younger brother is a Koei buff. He plays all the strategy game from Koei I show him the Shogun demo and he loves it. He rushes out to buy the game and he keeps playing right now.

I have no free disk space to play it right now. May be later.

Thanks BTS for bringing us the game and hope to see CM2 soon.

  12. One friend of mine 2 years ago got a copy of The Curse of Monkey Island and his wife (now ex) got his computer and finished the gamer faster than he did. I don't know if it had anything to do with their breakup.

To all married / coupled CMers: I suggest 2nd computer is a must. Show her how cool it would be to blow up AFV with another AFV, how cool it would be to cut down those "little men" with one single MG. I am pretty sure she will love it (especially the latter part, she can imagine that those "men" all have the face of ya). Also remember to order 2nd copy of CM for your "wife-only" computer. If this is not enough, buy The Sims as some suggests.

To all TCP/IP patch skeptics: you can see why TCP/IP is a must to 1) keep the CM hobby going and 2) get your wife/gf happy at the same time.

Disclamier: I am still single. frown.gif
