  1. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. I had to not only update my card number, but change my mailing address and email. I hope my order didn't get put on hold and is stuck there. Well, Steve asked that we wait until Friday to report if we haven't gotten our shipments, and I'm trying to be patient. But it isn't easy. 19 Echo, seething with jealousy at the people who already have CM in their grubby, undeserving hands.
  2. Here's one from my Guard unit. So this tank is going downrange during Tank Table VII or VIII. The driver suddenly heard some odd thumps. Then he saw the rest of the crew out in front of the tank, shouting at him to get out. He looked back into the turret, and saw electricity arcing everywhere. He didn't bother investigating further, and abandoned tank. The crew ran some distance away, and stood around congratulating themselves on their miraculous escape from certain death. Then they gradually became aware of a kind of "chunka-chunka" sound. They turned around and saw their tank happily idling its way downrange. The driver was in such a hurry to get out that he didn't even take it out of gear. An NCO (possibly the 1ST SGT, but I'm not sure) had to jump on board from a jeep (and remember, electrical arcing, live rounds) to shut it off. -- 19 Echo
  3. Germanboy, My German teacher had a map like that. It showed all the lost Prussian territory in pink, but you could clearly see the pre-war boundary. She was from Frankfort-am-Main, and had been in high school during the war. Every now and then she would pull down the map and go on a 5-minute tirade about how Alsace-Lorraine was properly German. Then she would say "doch" to us. She was about 5 ft. tall. We were terrified of her. -- 19 Echo
  4. There's vid of it. It shows up in those "Wildest Police Chases" shows now and then. He was doing fine until he hit the median. Moron. They teach you in Basic to always take obstacles like that at a 90 degree angle. Since no one was killed (except Mr. Brain Fart who stole the thing), it's great fun to watch. I dare say that every tank driver has dreamed of doing this. It's just that the rest of us have functioning frontal lobes, so it's just a fun fantasy. I wonder what they would have done if he hadn't gotten himself stranded. Get a LAW? Call in an Apache? - 19 Echo (formerly Mike Zeares. Decided to just reregister)
