  2. Why did they leave out the Panzer III by the way? They included the Panzer II, at least I think I remembered seeing it in there...
  3. It was the AI; it all happened in one turn, the Wasp was fired on in the first few seconds of the turn. Took them about 30 seconds to take out the SMG squad, and then at the end of the turn I noticed that the MG42's had surrendered. I wish there was some way to record the turns.
  4. In a quick battle I was commanding a small British force making a probe of a village. In the house to house fighting an entire rifle platoon was pinned down by a pair of MG42's in a heavy building at the end of the street, so I decided to move my Wasp up to clear the building. As soon as my Wasp came within range of the MG42's a Volksgrendier SMG squad popped out of hiding in a nearby building and fired a panzerfaust... it was a near miss, but the crew of the Wasp bailed out anyway. The three man crew then proceeded to charge the SMG squad and wiped them out! The next thing I knew the two MG42's in the building next door had surrendered to the Wasp crew... sadly one of the valiant crewmembers was taken out in the fighting. I'll definately be recommending the Victoria Cross for the whole crew.
  5. I would say that it's because of the MG42's much higher rate of fire that the 251's have "less ammo". Look at the ammo figure as the number of bursts and not an actual number of rounds. The MG42 would fire 10-20 round bursts while the M2 50cal would only fire 3-5 round bursts. The 251's and the M3's are probably both carring about the same amount of ammo; but the 251's will go through it faster because of the higher rate of fire.

ASL gave the StuPz IV a Rarity Factor of 1.4 By contrast the PzJg Tiger has a RF of 1.6 and there's quite a few other vehcles included that were just as rare if not more so... Sturmpanzerabteilung 217 was equiped with the STuPz IV and they saw action in the Ardennes offensive, so it's not like they weren't around either... They should have replaced the Hummel with the Brummbaer. The Hummel really has no place in a tactical game.
  9. I was quite disapointed to see that my beloved Sturmpanzer IV was not included in CM. Had very good luck with them in ASL. Nothing better for clearing out a fortified building full of Russians... Oh well, maybe it'll be in CM2. I'd like to see the Goliath added as well.
  10. Called in a 240mm rocket barrage on a small town to soften things up before my Pioneers moved in... Two rockets landed short and when the smoke had cleared I had lost two whole platoons and another was down to half strength... Things like that can really ruin you day. I think I'll stick to regular arty next time
  11. Not sure if this has been brought up before, but I would love to see a Vietnam War game using the Combat Mission engine.
