1. Couple of things.

Whittman: CM IS the PC Version of ASL. That is how it all started.

Cauldron: Shouldn't the title of this thread been concerning CG's and NOT scenarios? If so I agree.

However, have been playing ASL for 16 years. I head up the ASL group here in Seattle, and yet, have played ASL 3 times in last 13 months. Why? COMBAT MISSION. It is the best. Like ASL only more realistic, more challenging and more fun.

How long does a pbem game take, like three months? And any hotshot out there, who is good, let me know, because I will bust you up. Combined arms, overlapping fields of fire, this is the game I was always meant to play. Damn, Im just like patton, casualties for victories.

Did you already play the 10+ people who replied to your post about 2 weeks ago? You asked for opponents to 'whoop up on' and a dozen replied. How did those games go? did you win them all?

  3. Hi All,

Have not posted in a long, long time. But still playing almost daily. Anyway, I of course have the latest patch, but still see a common bug in every game I play.

When my opponent's unit is firing 'area' or smoke, I can see where it is targeted. That is, if I click on his unit, its target line is shown with either "area target" or smoke a the end of it.

Does not really effect play too much - but surprised it still exists. Not good at the posting pictures 'thing' but could send a screenshot to anyone interested.

I guess my question is: Is BTS and everyone aware of this? Has it been fixed? Or, is it not that big of a deal?

I of course always play with full fog of war on (if that matters).

Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. Hi Heinz,

I have a pretty good armor book library, and I only have one book on Soviet Tanks. Am forgetting the name, but it is the one by the Russian TC who commanded Shermans.

It has a little on their training, but not much if I recall. Other than that, there just is not that much out there. Hopefully we will see more books some day. I just got an incredible book on Hungarian Armor in WW2. So now I have as many books on it as I do Soviet Armor.

Sorry I could not help more. (BTW, I am out on business for 2 days and will then get your PBEM turn back to you)
