before CMBB I had very little interest in the East Front
(I know I just admitted to heresy  )
Since CMBB I have much more interest in that theater
and I also don't mind playing as the Germans in CMAK
I definitely would purchase a CMX2 East Front Module

I went back and found my e-mails from CodeWeavers
regarding CMAK & Crossover
here are the two replies
POST FROM: Ken Thomases
BODY:
Wow, that was strange. I downloaded and installed the (CMAK) demo.
When I run it, it switches to each and every full-screen mode available with my video card and monitor. After that, it puts up a dialog saying it couldn't initialize Direct3D.
Maybe Stefan will know what's going on here.
POST FROM: Stefan Dösinger
BODY:
I didn't try running that game yet, but usually such failures happen when some high level dlls are missing(d3dx9_xx most likely) or d3d calls fail unexpectadely.

I tried Crossover with CMAK
Just before I downloaded BootCamp
and installed XP on my Intel iMac

FOW comment/question regarding the Red icons
"you can BARELY see any signs of enemy infantry in the trenches. The icons tell you they are there"
These icons should only show up if there is detection
by the in game units in high levels of FOW
and does that change with lower FOW settings

I'd love to be your teachers aide there for that week

Brilliant Idea
I was subbing last week for the "Science Class from Hell"
one of the only well behaved two or three students
had his Social Studies text open to WWII
So I gave him the Battlefront website
and told him about the games
My ONLY suggestion looking at the Schedule
is to begin with an overall briefing with a map on the wall
like troops would get before a battle
the Background, Objectives, Forces etc
"Gentlemen (and Ladies) our Objective this Week..."

I'd have to agreeOriginally posted by MikeyD:I'd go for the Israeli wars back before Lebanon. I figure any war more than 30 years old could be considered politically neutral (or at least less of a hot potato). '67 war, '73 war - M60s, M48s, Centurions, Super Shermans, AMX-13s, T54s, etc., etc. Wouldn't expect the whole thing to be provided as a 'module' of course, but as a stand-alone game.
Snip
the point where I became hopelessly addicted to wargaming
was a very minor Victory in AH's Arab/Israeli Wars about 25 years ago
and the Best drug for that addiction has been CM

You mean just as the Soviet Union was collapsing and Eastern Europe was liberating itself? I hear there is talk of changing Aroostook to GrammontOriginally posted by kipanderson:Steve,
“We're making CM:SF for you guys, but the overlap with military training (not just US based, believe me!) is so blatantly obvious.”
So it is farms/ranches the size of a county for each of you at BFC…
All the best,
Kip.

I won't say whether I think it really works or not
but they are going to have to do better than a video on YouTube
in order to establish "proof of concept"
it appears to be a marketing video:
the type produced by every Defence Contractor to promote their product
(Sometimes taking licence with the difference between "operational" & "theoretical")
