1. H911, As in real life, units don't stop firing the instant the hands are raised to surrender. So, there will be times when surrendering troops will be killed.
 2. Another new CM website has been created. Stop by and check out Dan's CMBO Site. [ 01-04-2002: Message edited by: SuperTed ]

 3. R.C. has joined the SuperNewbies Alternates! Welcome aboard, R.C.!
 4. Hobo has been promoted to a full-fledged SuperNewbie! Congratulations to Hobo!
 5. Hoopenfaust 101 has joined the Newbie Reject Alternates! Welcome aboard, Hoopenfaust 101!
 6. Guys, I just wanted to remind everybody of where we are right now. Mighty Mouse, Medium Rare, and Down in the Valley are currently being played. So, keep reports of these scenarios as vague as possible. As YD mentioned, Blind Man's Bluff is officially complete. So, feel free to report your battles candidly here. Thanks for all the great feedback!
 7. DStone has been promoted to a full-fledged Newbie Reject! Congratulations to DStone!
 8. Leta, Don't worry; CG will be playing one of the Alternates, once they finish sharpening their weapons. Thanks. I'm glad you like the maps. Ted
 9. Leta, Pmet (from the SuperNewbies) and Garulfo (from the Newbie Rejects) are the guilty parties.
 10. ...except the ones already in the Newbie Tournaments. Two Players have gone AWOL from the tournament and I plan to promote two Alternates to take their places. So, we are in need of more Alternates. Now, before you say, "I don't want to be an Alternate. I want to play," hear me out. In the Newbie Tournaments, everybody gets to play; even the Alternates! The regular Players are involved in the tournament-proper, which involves two scenarios per round. At the same time, the Alternates are involved in the Alterna Bowl, which involves one scenario per round. So, if you'd like to join the fun, send me an email ( tedquincey@yahoo.com ) and I'll send you an application. Remember, this is a tournament for Newbies. So, if you are a seasoned veteran, please do not apply. However, I am willing to relax the restrictions a bit here. For example, if you have played many (50+) battles against human opponents but you really suck, you'd be welcome here. Now is your chance to join the fun! I am sure several of the current Players and Alternates will have good things to say.
 11. See if you can follow the bouncing webmaster at GD for CM.
 12. More results from the GV Newbies: Walker (French) defeated Chad 'Harrison' (German) by a score of 51-49 in Mighty Mouse. So, Round 1 ends with Chad 'Harrison' holding an overall lead of 101-99 ( ). Due to unusual circumstances, both players have agreed to play a tie-breaker. This scenario will determine the winner. [ 01-02-2002: Message edited by: SuperTed ]

 13. More results from the GV Newbies: Eric Alkema (German) defeated Major Catastrophe (Polish), 66-34, in Blind Man's Bluff. Congratulations to Eric Alkema!
 14.
quote:
Originally posted by YankeeDog: Just giving this a much needed bump from the second page. As long as I'm posting, Zitadelle and I are in the process of finishing up Mighty Mouse. I'm going to refrain from any details right now because there are still lots of people out there playing the scenario. A friendly suggestion to others that it might be best to refrain from posting AARs until after the deadline for a given round of the tournament has passed to avoid spilling the beans. Might be best to start a separate thread for AARs - there are probably some out there (such as alternates) who would like to play Ted's excellent scenarios after the tournament is over. This way, they can avoid spoiling the suprise by avoiding the AAR thread. . . I am looking forward to reading everyone's reports, though. Mine for Blind will follow later this week. I'll start an AAR thread then if one hasn't been started already. Cheers, YD

YD, Excellent idea!
 15.
quote:
Originally posted by Vader's Jester: Don't worry Ted. We'll fill this thread full of useless crap to keep it on the front page where it belongs!! Seen it again yet Ted? Huh? Have ya? I'm out of the mines of Moria now. The company is sleeping in the trees hiding from orcs.

VJ, I will, I will!
 16. Guys, I haven't even been gone 24 hours and I find this on the second page. For shame... Thanks for trying, Splashy!
 17. More results from the GV Newbies: Von Viniga (French) defeated White4 (German) by a score of 55-45 in Mighty Mouse. This was not enough for Von Viniga to overtake White4's lead from the first leg of Round 1. So, White4 wins Round 1 with an overall score of 110-90 and advances to Round 2. Congratulations to White4!
 18. The deadline for completion of the first leg of Round 1 has changed to 12:00 pm (GMT -6:00) on January 2. So, all of you playing Blind Man's Bluff need to be done by then.
 19. More results from the GV Newbies: White4 (Polish) defeated Von Viniga (German), 65-35, in Blind Man's Bluff. Congratulations to White4!
 20. More results from the Newbie Rejects: Voidhawk (French) defeated ASLer (German) by a score of 81-19 in Mighty Mouse. So, Voidhawk wins Round 1 with an overall score of 136-64 and advances to Round 2. Congratulations to Voidhawk!
 21.
quote:
Originally posted by Walker: Could that possibly be can of worms, Ted? Chris Walker

Chris, Not if I claim they were all 50-50.
 22.
quote:
Originally posted by dfgardner: Ted, Any way you could publish the results to date by side, ie, Allies won X and Germans won Y of scenarios to date? Just thought it might make an interesting topic of discussion.

DFG, I plan to do that after everybody has finished the scenarios in question.
 23.
quote:
Originally posted by Splash: Your welcome Ted. Yah perhaps I overstated it a lot but as newlife pointed out - NOT noticing it until you wanted to use it had serious consequences. As a disengagment weapon going forward into safety it was very effective and I was able to throw these squads back into the fray on the next turn -- they remained in command range at all times (broadly speaking). I did notice that on turn 1 (I used it to get my Reg's moving immediately) they started in an alerted state but that didn't last. I would imagine it would've been different if they ran smack into enemy fire.

Splash, Yup, that would have been ugly!
