Yes, there will be an update for both my UI mods. I'm waiting for some files from Marco before I can start, though. Hang in there, I'll keep you guys updated!
Oh, and now I look at the files I suppose I'll have to update my floating icon mod as well!

Yes, but the way I understand it is that the MG module already contains the 2.0 upgrade. Or am I totally getting it wrong?
-
Here's a (possibly dumb) question: I already have the 2.0 upgrade and plan on buying the MG module. Now, If, at some point in the future, I re-install CM:BN, do I still need to install the 2.0 upgrade if I'm also installing the MG module?
The MG manual leads me to believe it's not necessary, but it's nice to know for sure.

It's also far more efficient at compression than Winzip or WinRar (i.e. much smaller archives). Not that file size is really an issue these days.

I hope you mean Kilometer markers? No miles over here.

Anything "free" just means you don't understand the cost. Gmail, dropbox, etc.
I wish more people would understand that...

Wow, that's pretty significant! Significant enough to break my lurker status! Thanks!

Yeah, well, I cheated (sorry). The answer did surprise me, though.
2001 is as far as I'll go, having cheated and all.

Juju,
Thank you for this great mod. I already had it added to my CMBN and just today finally added it to CMFI GL. But my enfields are not there!! In the mod fodler in your UI folder I see the "pointing to the right" enfields bmp with all the other ones but in the actual game it is a dulled green still pointing to the left. What did I do wrong?
Thanks kohlenklau. I believe your problem is because the FI Enfields are named differently. Not sure about the standard ones (don't own FI, as you know), but from another thread I know the scoped ones should be named like this:
lee-enfield_n1_mkiii_scope green
lee-enfield_n1_mkiii_scope yellow
Which probably means the standard ones go like this:
lee-enfield_n1_mkiii green
lee-enfield_n1_mkiii yellow
Hope that helps!
@Bradley: I don't know. Probably/likely the same issue as the Enfield. but it's in there, since it works for BN.
Cheers,
Juju

Erst die Arbeit und dann das Vergnügen, jungs!

So...with their permission and if there's any interest, I'll upload them to the repository. It'll make it look like all one game.
Fine with me, von Albert. Do your thing!
It would be nice if you put links to the original mods in your readme, though. Will you do that?

Just so you guys know, I don't own CM:FI. There is no dedicated UI mod for this game, and there isn't likely going to be one (at least, not by me, that is). These were made upon request and it's also unlikely I'll add more (unless the MG module adds weapons that are also in FI. Maybe).
Still, enjoy!

There ya go. Beretta pistol and smg, Carcano rifle, both Springfields and the FG42 in one package. Both mod versions are included.
-
Hey, no problem. Happy to do it.
By the looks of it I can do all the guns you listed (except that early FG-42. For now I'll use the one I have for both variants). Some may not be 100% the exact same model number, but I hope that's not really going to be a problem, them being so tiny.
Gimme a day, or so. I'll let you know when they're ready!
-
Thanks!
Modding a mod, eh? I'm quietly flattered.
BTW, I already have .PSD's for the Beretta 34 pistol/Carcano rifle/Beretta SMG left over from my CM:AK mod if you want those (that is, assuming these weapons are in FI/GL, that is). And like I offered in post #63, I'm even willing to do those three myself if they are needed.
-
If you mean the weapon slot icons; they're basically miniature versions of the small arms mods I made for CM:BB and CM:AK back in 2003/2004. Most, if not all, were made using heavily modified high quality color photographs.

Um, If I knew what 'Juju´s UI Desktop Gral Edit 2.0' is I could tell you.
But If you actually meant 'Juju's UI Desktop General Edition 2.0' () then the difference is merely cosmetic. TweakedUI is the standard grey variant. The Desktop General version uses a wood/leather 'desktop' background (at least that was the idea )
So, apart from the look they're pretty much identical.

Is the Springfield for GL, or for CMBN (since it's in this forum)?
It's for GL (or FI in general, I don't know), as is the downloadable FG-42 on the previous page. It's on this forum because there is no dedicated FI version of this mod, yet people still use it for that. Pretty cool, actually.
@3j2m7: I'm sorry, but I didn't understand your last response.
-
Solved it! The file names are: m1903a3-m1 green.bmp and ditto yellow.bmp
Cheers Juju
Here comes another one!
Download Springfield with GL here.
Don't tell anyone, but it's really the a4 from BN without its scope, not an a3. I'm just sayin', cos I know you grogs out there.
@3j2m7: That would be a nice idea, but there is only one force selection graphic for each side. One could still mod them of course, but you'd have to switch out versions before each and every game you start.
BTW, I happened to make all but one of those flags you posted above (also still have A French version as well, I think). The ones you used are tiny. I still have larger versions of those (in .psd format), if you want I could send those to you to work with.
-
Okay, got it! I'll just wait for the file name.
-
Well, that's tricky. Show me a screenshot, then, and I can probably take it from there. Another way to check would be the manual. It has small arms descriptions, right? FWIW, BF's FI page lists the 'M1903A3 (with M1 Grenade Launcher)' as one of the US's small arms.
Anyway, if it really is the Springfield, I already have it finished. Just need to know the filename.
BTW, the Springfield (sniper rifle) in CM:BN is listed as 'M1903A4 Springfield' in my game. Not sure what that M7 that you're referring to is.
-
The only US small arms that I have come across, which is not covered by your excellent mod is the M1 rifle that carries a grenade launcher. It's listed on the UI as M1GL on Springfld
So, are we talking CM:BN's Springield, but with a GL instead of a scope?
haha Juju, the Force is strongGustav is a surprisingly good module you should consider investing.
Yah, Adobe-Wan has taught me well. Aha-ha.
Incidentally, any mouse-over text is hard coded and has nothing to do with any mod.
As for GL; I don't even own FI (not into the Italian theater). I hardly ever play CM these days, really. Looking forward to MG, though!
-
You're welcome, Phil.
If you happen to find more missing German, US or British small arms, let me know. If I happen to have any of them lying around from old mods I'd be happy to whip up some more icons.
I'm even willing to go as far as making a few standard Italian ones (but only if they happen to be Beretta 34 pistol/Carcano rifle/Beretta SMG, as those are the only Italian weapons for which I have old CM:BB files).
JuJU's FLoating Icon mod..no go.

In any case, I'm going to update that mod. Soon. After I finish the UI updates.
