  1. Just got home at 7pm after heading off to Adelaide at 4.45am. What a long day spent about $130 on various books at the gun fair and a nearby massive book sale. Then lunch and a few beers with the gang, I think the pub staff didn't want us to scare off the patrons as they stuck us on a table out on the balcony all by ourselves. Though in their defense they did do this after Simmox came through the front bar calling out, asking if there were any Combat Mission players here.

The big mystery of the day though was how Jim, after ordering his meal 20 minutes after the rest of us managed to get it 20 minutes before everyone else got there own?

And here is a pic stolen from the BOB forum:

Has anyone in here read Nietzsche, or are you guys getting your philosophy from Bartlett's again?

Well, I've read 'Thus Spake Zarathustra', 'Ecce Homo', 'The Use and Abuse of History' and 'On the Genealogy of Morals'. Also some other essays and excerpts from other works. Most of it was for Political Philosophy & Theory courses, so we had a more specific focus than, say, Berli might have had.

Nietzsche was one of the more interesting reads. The most painful was Thomas Aquinas. I'd rather perform a self-crucifixion rather than read Aquinas again.

Better yet, I wish I had a time machine so that I could go back in time and shove weasels up Aquinas' bum until he desisted from writing. </font>

  4. I've been waiting since 1999 for them to do an early war game so I am hoping for a France 40 or Poland 39 game myself. Don't know if I would bother forking out money for a game that has been covered by CMBO.

Unfortunately I expect them to go the Yanks 44 way so it might be some time before I get to play CMx2.

Then again the 39-40 time frame would be perfect for how I understand the way the modular system works. Initial game could be Germans Vs Poles Sept '39. Then later add 2 modules one with British '40 troops and the other with French '40 troops, the first one of these add ons would include the new German equipment for '40. You could then add a third mini module with Norwegian (woohoo snow), Belgian and Dutch troops and equipment. So maybe I might get lucky :D

Regardless we came up with this scenario:

knowing speedy, he played aussie rules ON a soccer pitch

    while drunk

caught up in the soccer net like a fly in a spider's web

with the beer keg out of reach.

    oh the humanity!!

    Just to clear things up:

I was playing aussie rules but I think one of the umpires thought it was soccer, bloody soft maggot.

The keg was out of reach but the gun was in hand.

All the rest is a little hazy, I'm pretty sure there where no flies, but the obligatory doing of donuts in someone elses car was involved not to mention the returning home with at least one piece of torn clothing.

Do you see then Speedy, do you see NOW?

TWO SSNs on the first page and it's because there ARE NO RULES!

Very slipshod, Speedy, very slipshod indeed. I'd be ashamed of you were it not for the fact that you're Australian and there really can't be a worse punishment than that.

By the by, lads, be aware that one or more of these SSNs have no email and/or location in their profiles and we don't respond to such lowlifes. Of course THEY would know that IF we had proper rules in place.
