  1. Doug - try splitting the archive as I suggested, I haven't tried it myself, but are lot of large releases are done this way. CCJ
  2. Hey Guys are we gonna have a ladder? Wouldn't matter anyway - I tend not to play ladder games, to much ego and pressure at stake People just lose their cool sometimes... CCJ
  3. I think this feature should be in the game, if it isn't already- Allow the gamer to save camera presets and jump between using hotkeys. At least 5 presets would be nice. CCJ
  4. Actually another method is to unpack the demo, and repack it as a multiple split archive in WInrar, so you can copy each archive onto a floppy and then use Winrar on your game computer to recombine and unpack CCJ
  5. there is anyother way - a few actually. One method I use to transfer files between my AMiga and my Pc is use Hyper terminal, link the 2 computers together with a null serial cable, select direct link and about 115,000 bps and then send the file from the menu using Z-Modem with crash resume, if you get excessive errors use a slower connect speed on both PC like 56,6000 bps. This is quite slow, but it works well CCJ
  6. Seriously, I am not kidding. Any anyhoo, the beta demo will be out fairly soon. That is WAY better than a QT movie YEEHAH! hehee CCJ
  7. It seems these movies are quite old. We demand new movies
  8. More questions - I've read only of bombing runs by planes, will there be any MG strafing runs by fighters, against infantry and soft targets like AT guns? CCJ
  9. More praise I really dig the layers of detail you guys have put into the game! After watching the quiktime mov called Advance - I noticed the opposite track rotation of the tank when they rotated on the spot to turn.COol! Heh CCJ
  10. Being a muso I can understand that - how many channels do you have to limit to? I guess stereo directional sounds are out of the question. CCJ
  11. I haven't seen this mentioned so I'll bug you about it- Will there be any turret rotation sounds? I think it would add a bit to the game, no? I just love that sound - the scene from Kelly's Hereos, where the Tiger faces off in the town square is a perfect example CCJ
  12. >ya mean illustration? If so i suggest ya take more time learning how to write english then spamming this board (especially since yer so good at it...it's weird not to know how to spell it ) Its just a typo, I won't take any offence to this reply CCJ
  13. I'm talented Not only can I write/compose music, I'm also pretty handy with illustation. My skills are on par with the artist you commissioned for you posters Possibly even better as far as pencil drawing goes, which is what he used for the posters Though I have a different style, and can work with other mediums like ink (comic style as well) and color Need any spot art? For Manual? No harm in asking CCJ [This message has been edited by CoolColJ (edited 08-22-99).] [This message has been edited by CoolColJ (edited 08-22-99).] [This message has been edited by CoolColJ (edited 08-22-99).]
  14. Will their be an ability to change unit names in any battle? Its not for roleplaying, its just that I prefer to name units to something that I can relate to, and allow me to identify them in my plans - ie rename my 2 King Tiger units, BLITZ Force A and BLITZ force B if they are Elite units, so I know instantly which is which, and what experience level they are. CCJ
  15. I wished the game was out before I came here! And I whished I hadn't bought West Front and Age of Empires ROR last wekk - argh that hurt my wallet CCJ
  16. Nothing will take this anguish away I tried playing CC3, but don't have the patience, West Front erks me is too disjointed, and there is nothing else to fire up my imagination about WW2, I'll have to go hire Saving Private Ryan again, and my Fav Kelly's Heroeos Actually I'll go and fire up my good old Amiga, there is some stuff on it I haven't seen in years like Fire Brigade (Battle for Kiev, Australian game by Panther Games - I wonder where they are now??) top Game with simultaneous turn generation- exactly like CM, but its from 1988 and runs on 1 meg and is divisional level, now that game had good AI - There is chapter at the end of the manual on its AI design, early fuzzy logic? One thing I really Like about this game - I mentioned in a previous post - you can just set the objectives and orders, and you computer staff fills in all the other bits for if you couldn't be bothered When is demo coming out??? arghhhhh CCJ
  17. I always thought germans wore some sort winter camo on their tanks and soldiers in areas with snow. If so, will you have different camo and uniforms to reflect this? CCJ
  18. I thought I'd re-post this in case you missed it Hey after looking at the quiktime movies abit more, I figure why they look so robotic, when they swing their arms, they swing it same directrion as the leg on that side! Humans don't walk like that! The arm should swing the opposite way on each side to the leg I hope this will be fixed CCJ
  19. Hahhhhahaha You read that I didn't notice that FPs readout in the quicktime movies until he pointed it out Well the reeason why I upgraded from my Cyrix M2 300 was to get more FPS But it was cheap, The P2 400 cost $215 Australian and is sitiing inside my 486 case Iron fist in a glove LOL Yeah it really erks me, I really thought some of those guys were a bit more open minded. Is there an open ended forum for computer wargamers in general? CCJ
  20. I have a Pentium 2 celeron 400 mhtz, 192 megs of ram and a Leadtek s320 II TNT2 16 meg video card running 150 mhtz. How many FPS can I expect with everything on, average ? CCJ
  21. Actually now that I think about it, CM won't be too bad, since it has tactical AI. West Front was a pain, since you had to order every unit every turn. So I assume you'll be able to say to a tank move to the village, and it will over a few turns do just that? And fire on anything it spots on the way there? WIll the unit ever stop going to the village and try to fight it out with an enemy tank that just popped from nowhere? If so, will it then resume its journey to the village after the firfight , assuming it has survived and is mobile? CCJ
  22. Well they had to fight a night! Ally air superiority ensured that CCJ
  23. One of the things that annoyed me about West Front, was that with the larger senarios, there were just too much clutter, too many units to process. I guess CM would have similar problems? Would it be possible to assign Platoons/Squads to computer control (virtual subordinate? ). I've always like the idea that you were just one cog in the wheel Which also reduces the burden of ordering too many units. Say you could give it priorities/ objectives and leave them to their own devices. Just a thought CCJ
  24. Well it shouldn't be too hard to ifx
