  1. Ahem!

Its hard enough to make an AI unbeatable without cheating as it is........... but fuzzy logic should make its decisions a bit variably from game to game I believe - is it BTS?

BTS have you tried running the same scenario several times - what does this cpu do, is it different evrytime?

This would help replayability of preset scenarios

  2. Re: the demo

I'm ITCHING! -well I upgraded my celeron 400 to a Pentium 3 500 , overclocked to 575 mhtz - this should make short work of CM, Its about 60% faster than celeron 400 (I've tweaked the cache timing among other things - and its running on the brink! smile.gif ) ---------------> just need the demo now, I hope I get 40 fps at least

Hey Martin (moon) you have a P3 550 right?, what Fps do you get with you Banshee card? My TNT2 (o/c to 160 mhtz) should be a bit quicker wink.gif

At least I'm near the pointy end of Pc now smile.gif

  3. Well

    I'm waiting for

    Combat Mission

Gran Turismo 2 on the Playstation

NBA Live 2000 (pc and playstation)

Le Man 24 hour (pc and playstation)

    Team Fortress 2 wink.gif

    and of course -----> Playstation 2 - what a beast! wink.gif

Notice CM is the only wargame I'm waiting for

Because every wargame coming out now and the near future is old hat, boring and a been-there-done-that.

  4. Yes!

a FPS wargame simulator - having soldiers plus other players playing in tanks ala Panzer Elite would be cool wouldn't it??? What about adding air support with flight sim mechanics? Now that is the future of gaming wink.gif Imagine an online server with up to 5000 players online - simualting a WW2 battle, with all arms involved! Each person playing from a FPS point of view, or tank sim view, or flight sim etc....and some people playing as the commanders, as in a traditional wargame sense wink.gif except in this case, battles are resolved by all players involved

We'd need some computer grunt, but I think that's the way to go in the future

  5. Heheh

hey your right - I did misread it, amazing what leaving out a couple of words can do....

Steve - "but I know Fionn and Martin aren't finding it easy to beat. Not to say the StratAI is perfect and is in need of no improvements (still has yet to learn about keeping HQs close to their units for example), but it is probably better than most final AIs already"

heh smile.gif I thought he said "are" instead of "aren't"

    Oh well wink.gif

  6. Well

I'm going through a FPS craze right now!! I bought Half-Life (on special now with Team Fortress Classic) - and I love it! Team Fortress Classic is a real hoot! Having 24 people blowing each other away, whilst playing togther as a team is fun beyong words smile.gif

Gives me ideas for CM - but I guess until next CM version..... having more than 2 people on each side - online would be super cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wink.gif

    BTS please consider!

    I've been lurking for a while.....until now smile.gif

anyway - unlike most people I like playing solo a lot against the computer - if he best me evern better smile.gif

I read somewhere the ai is pretty easy to beat now - I hope BTS will improve this - please smile.gif

ALso are you guys going to implement some sort of learning brainfile? Would be cool one day ....people can exchange brainfiles smile.gif

    Possibly customable AI's....one day

  8. Hi BTS

I have some thoughts - assuming Cm2 -Eastern Front goes bigger and better - eg 16 meg worth of textures and so forth, will you go back and improve/update CM1, with new stuff?? I hate it when a second version comes out and its a different theatre, cause I really like the Western Front. I hope you release an update or something along those lines.

Close Combat being a good example, each version in a different theatre, with improved mechanics, but then its up to hackers to create the old theatres....

I hope this won't be the case with CM

  9. I've just got a cheap $50 Creative Vibra pci soundcard for games smile.gif Running through my Mackie 24 channel mixer and out through my KRK K-Rok Studio Reference Monitors! smile.gif Bit of an overkill for games, but I like my sound to be accurate smile.gif Yeah I have a Creamware Pulsar soundcard - cost me $2500 and is loaded with DSPs, but is totally useless for games smile.gifLOl but its awesome for music writing and recording, being 24 bit/96khtz capable - DVD cd quality for those that know wink.gif
