last set german reinforcements comes in at a bad place.
These are good quality troops but the distance they have to travel to get to the bridge is too big,it just takes them too much time too make a difference

you do have a point here,bfc sells nice drawings.
but have indeed an ugly art cover for their games

I think what you are talking about is the beta demo,he first one.
This one contains two scenarios as well both of them are remade and are on the CMBO cd
Last defense and Riesberg
Later came the gold demo with chance encounter and valley of trouble
only chance encounter is on the cd but i have the original valley of trouble and can send it to you if you have the cd's
there are no extra scenarios for the demo

Guys as a dutchman myself I know the problem
I have been thinking of how to solve this issue
and together with several other dutch guys I came up with two possible solutions.

You can get around the cdv problem and get the original if you think for a while

actually there is an explosion when a mine explodes
it isnt very loud and you have to look closely after your squad or tank hits one
the sign only pops up to tell you you hit a minefield..
there is a mod available with two colors,yellow and white to tell you right away what mines you ran into.
engineers can clear AT mines and AP ones with demo charges
takes several turns depending on quality and if they come under fire
Daisy chains will be removed in a few seconds without democharges

downloading shouldnt have to be a big problem though
bfc can give you a time and date to start download it from a secured site with a simple thing as a password.
this way you have a controlled/selected flow of data which wont crash your server.

yes that octobre 4 date is known to us now.
but only till MR Z told us so,not the people from battlefront,till now we all(Europeans) thought it would be september 20.
Now thats what I meant with some perestroika.
Now for the record I do not live in the UK,and for the scandinavian countries another date is now in place. october 18!
Makes me wonder when we get our copy here.......
the europeans are allready convicted to CDV which was very bad a decision IMHO.
So I had to come up with plans to get at least the US version here.
But I think it shouldnt have been worth al the efforts i undertook,we should have been able to get it straight from you.

A few minutes after the post of mister Z it suddenly is halfway oktober and confirmed by moon too.
Now I do know that I will face bans,tortures,deathsentences and lord knows what else.
But I do not buy this!
I dont think the current way things are going is good!
I have always respected you guys from battlefront and what you did for us but with each day passing I get a feeling the veterans are of no use anymore.
We do need some honesty here,dont get me wrong I still buy the game even if I have to wait 5 more months,evry time a date is fixed it will be adjusted
There has been too much secrecy around here,made me think I get a secret weapon instead of a game.
Also the ongoing events regarding the release date looks like a soap TV series.
A screaming add says pre order now,but only mac folks can do that
We dont deserve this,a bit more perestroika would be very apreciated.
The way Major Holdridge handled his approach toward a release date is better than yours,Moon,Madmatt and the others take that as an example on how to do it corrct.

I did nothing special but I use XP firewall and also a virus protection program.

one thing you need is a group of enthousiast players that sticks together
the second thing you need is a group of umpires
who keep the game running
keeping all players happy is very difficult
you also need tons of rules
and you need to have one guy who has no RL

majority of them didnt know when ww2 started nor when it ended
Only a few knew that Rotterdam centre was bombed to pieces by the Germans.

A NATO exercise in germany,I drove my YPR 765 APC into a small town named Uelzen to find a safe spot to engage my enemies.
I turned left at the end of a street than I heard some people screaming and shouting!
To the right of my vehicle I saw the asphalt been pushed over the sidewalk.
Police in the town wasnt to happy
ANyway it was the end of the exercise for us,we had to wait till late in the evening when the roads temperature cooled down to continue movement
Tom that was a very horrible deed you described,who was responsible for that evil deed :eek:

I tried the link but only the german version could be preordered and showed the sept 20 date.
Other country and english link got me a "coming soon" message :mad: !!
