1. Was just wondering - in the final version, is it (or can it be made) possible for a 'frame advance' button be included in the playback, so I can line up those screencaps JUST right? Of course, if there is a way to do this now, can someone enlighten me? Thanks, Scott
2. You guys might find this link interesting - it details all different kinds of battle damage to WWII tanks/AFV's : tank damage in WWII
3. I dont know the exact weights, but I do know, that one M2 .50 cal, without the barrel, is one hell of a weight to carry around. Thankfully, I was in the Cav, so we drove our tracks everywhere, but it was a CHORE to get the .50's mounted/unmounted, etc. The tripod itself weighs over 30 pounds. Carrying two barrels was a bit of a chore. If anything, even maintaining a walking speed for any distance with a .50 would be very hard.
4. Rich - Go into your BIOS (restart the machine, press DEL or F1 - every machine is different). This will get you into your BIOS. Now, keep in mind, every machine has the potential to have a different BIOS, also, so you may have to hunt around a bit for it. I have an ABIT BH6 motherboard, and under the CHIPSET FEATURES SETUP, there is the ASSIGN IRQ TO VGA? item, which has to be clicked YES for a Voodoo 3 card of any sort. It might be in a different place, and say something different, but you should be able to figure it out. Good luck One more thing - BE CAREFUL messing around in your BIOS. If you are not comfortable munging around in there, DONT, you can really mess things up. Have someone who knows what they are doing look at it, then. Rather be safe, than sorry [This message has been edited by slazzari (edited 10-29-99).]
5. Rich - Make sure you have an IRQ assigned to your Video card in your system BIOS - The card will work without allocating an IRQ, but it will perform very erratically.
6. Wow. Like holy s**t kinda wow. THIS is the game I have been waiting for YEARS for. The interface is VERY simple, took about 2 minutes to get used to. The graphics are great, and the sounds are better! Hats off to you, Big Time. I have played 3 games so far. My 1st was the germans defending the town. With some skillfully placed 88's, and a little luck, I _barely_ pulled out a win. Next up, the allies attacking the bridge. Got my butt handed to me on this one. The AT tanks got me at long range, killing all 3 of my tanks in one round - I managed to get a platoon into the city, but got wiped real soon after. I just finished attacking the town (Reberg?) as the Allies - DESTROYED the germans on that one! They surrendered on turn 24, after I knocked them out of the town, and was just mopping up. I am ADDICTED already! Great game, BTS, I'll be placing my order tomorrow! Scott L.
7. Hehe. I like the way you think, Moon. Simply hitting ESC switches you to the desktop, eh? Nice and easy....
8. One of the things that was impressed on me in my 8 years in the US Army is actually a very simple principle. When on the defense, rather than just setting up defenses as you think they would best go, place youself in the attacking commanders shoes. Actually get out on foot, or at least do a simple map recon, and plan out, as fully as time allows, how YOU would attack the area (town, crossroads, etc.) that you are defending. Once you have your 'attack plan' in place, you will have a MUCH better understanding of how to place your defenses. Simple, yet extremely effective process, and should be made easier in CM, as you have plenty of time to examine the map and determine things for yourself.
9. Ok, thanks! Thats gonna make playing at work a little tougher, but I imagine I'll find a way
10. I think the subject says it all. If not, I imagine ALT-TAB will still work correctly, correct? Thanks!

12. Fionn - Man, more stories, more stories! Its the only thing that will keep us sane until the Beta demo release... Is there anything else you have seen the AI (either tactical or strategic)do, that really made you stop and say "wow"?
13. here is the link you are looking for; http://www.achtungpanzer.com/gen3.htm
14. Darstand: Already told everyone I know who may remotely be interested. As a side note, I'm glad I didn't stumble onto this gem earlier, the wait surely would have killed me by now.
15. Hello all, I figure now will be as good a time as any to introduce myself here! I stumbled in here earlier this week, from a link someone posted to the Sudden Strike message board, and am I impressed by what I see here! THIS is the game I have been waiting for, for years. Looks like a phenominal product, BTS, I eagerly wait the beta demo.
