I used to believe this too. But with the recent successes of Quake3 and Halflife cd-keys this might not be true anymore. It's very hard to crack those codes so it seems. The Useenet is full of idiots asking for cd-keys smile.gif.

Plus to the others. It will not stop them but it will annoy them to hell. It wont annoy us very much (how hard is it to plug in some numbers first time you install).

Ah, but the catch (with Half Life multiplayer anyways) is that you have to verify through WON.net each time you want to play. Their servers are up and down all the time and it is a big pain in the butt type of copy protection. The WON.net verification has already been defeated however. This shows that no form of copy protection, other than some form of public/private key cryptography, is easily defeated...

  2. I do not want the warez version (since I already have the game), I do however want the CD-check crack. The 'CD-check' is the most annoying form of copy protection. It is easily defeated due to the prevalence of burners now days. Unlike most of the fanatics on this forum I do not leave my CM CD in the drive all the time. It gets thrown into a pile with all of my other CD's when not in use. BTS should consider some other form of copy protection if they are serious about cracking down on warez copies.

Did anyone see my name while playing the game???

I did, I made up a Bread-Spread Team, led by Capt. Mayonnaise. They run around the battlefield with FOW OFF making sandwiches for the combat troops...

Umm, Manieri, since you don't play with FOW ON I wouldn't play you even if you asked. Thanks for trolling though.

Now that's some funny ****! He whines and yells about how much he hates CC because it is so unrealistic, yet he plays with FOW OFF. Way to go Cpt. Mayonnaise...

I wouldn't bash Mississippi too hard - I got mine. Of course I just work there...had it delivered to LA! I suppose anyone up in Meridian will have to wait until September for it to arrive - via paradrop. "Y'all can't get thar from here".

Ah, I'm just messing around. Everyone knows that when it comes to education and teen pregnancy, Arkansas' motto is "Thank God for Mississippi." smile.gif

I think a thing to be noted is that every country that Germany attacked started their own war of aggression against unwilling countries. War is no stranger to any nation. It was the extra things that the Nazi's were doing that sticks in peoples minds when talking about WW2. As far as I'm concerned Germans dont have to feel guilty of the war. They SHOULD have some shame upon them how SOME of that generation acted. A lot of Germans did'nt want to be at war but were subject to their goverments will, just like Americans have been many times over.

From what I understand it is difficult to find a television show in Germany that objectively shows their war effort.

By your line of reasoning, I guess I should feel shame because my ancestors owned slaves in the old South here in USA. Well, I don't and I don't think that ANY younger German should feel shame for the supposed 'crimes' of their ancestors. This is liberal, feel-good crap...

Gotcha CEO. I didn't realize at the time that your book was Nafziger. He (Nafziger) pretty much does TO&E research for a living.

So, I just reinforced what you had already stated smile.gif

Oh yeah, George Nafziger is the man! Have both of his books and I would hazard to say that his information is probably 99.9% correct. Perhaps this MG fellow should invest the money and purchase his "German Order of Battle: Infantry in WWII."

Hey MG, in the book listed above, page 33, bottom right of the page, under the heading "Volks Grenadier Division, 1944-1945" you'll see a listing for the Fusilier Company. It lists the 1st and 2nd SMG Plt. Of course, it also states that they used bicycles, perhaps you should rag on BTS for not letting your men ride into battle on their Schwinn's...

Another thing I didn't care for was......

And i'm still not quite sure is,

you will need to own SP3 to be able to play

SPW@W...?? I have never palyed any SP editions. But, that definatley turned me off. I dont want to have to buy 2 games, SP W@W being full price, and then buy SP3 for reduced price. It just doesn't click.

You will need to own either SP2 or SP3 to play SPW@W, but SPW@W will be free...
